I’m very interested in why GM puts out faulty equipment on cars and the one I am interested in is the gear shift on a 2017 Malibu that I own, bought new and it has over 63,000 miles, but this has been going on for over a year and I realize that the warranty does not cover it because car companies don’t have a warranty and more that covers things over 36,000 miles, and that is a rip off you keep raising the prices but warranties get less and less. I know there was a class action suit on this and I talked to a dealer about fixing it and was told the way they fix it is to replace the whole assembly and it costs about $700 and that was a year or so ago. I know the problem is that spring but once again GM will hold off and then there won’t be any around so look at the money you have cheated yourself out of. You get a message that says shift to Park when you turn the engine off. When I get rid of this car I will go to a foreign made car. I have always had American made, but have had it with GM and the high priced dealerships.
