Price adjustments have been a common theme in the automotive industry over the past year as companies react to rising shipping and commodities costs, among other market challenges. It’s therefore not surprising that GM will apply a minor price increase to the 2023 GMC Acadia mid-size crossover, effectively making it $1,700 more expensive than it was previously.
The base price of the 2023 GMC Acadia in the base SLE trim level will be $37,895 including destination and freight, up $1,700 from $36,195. The actual price of the crossover has only gone up by $200, however GM has also made the three-year OnStar and Connected Services (RPO code R9M) plan a mandatory option across all Buick and GMC models for the 2023 model year, driving up the price another $1,500. GM says including a mandatory Connected Service plan in GMC and Buick products will provide “more customer value and a more seamless onboarding experience,” for its various web-based products.

The 2023 GMC Acadia will continue with minimal changes over the 2022MY. These changes will encompass a revised list of exterior paint options, with the Satin Steel Metallic (paint code G9K), Midnight Blue Metallic (paint code GLU), and Cayenne Red Tintcoat (paint code GSK) colors getting dropped from the lineup. In their place, the 2023 model year adds three new hues: Volcanic Red Tintcoat (paint code GNT), Ultra Blue Metallic (GTR), and Sterling Metallic (GXD).
For 2023, the GMC Acadia continues with two engine options. The GM turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm serves as the base engine, while customers can also select the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines connect to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. The crossover rides on the GM C1 platform.
Production of the 2023 GMC Acadia began at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee on June 10th, 2022.

I had a 2017 and now have a 2020 Acadia both without a data plan. I am very pleased with the Acadia but when time comes to replace the 2020 no Acadia for me. If Chevy does not require the data plan I will go Traverse or Hyundai.
Note dealers will not touch the Onstar price. I had a chance to upgrade my truck this was one reason I walked away.
I will not pay that much for something I will not use.
Watch this will be the start of subscription options.
I think this will last a few months and then stop.
Sadly, there are plenty of GM die-hard’s that will blindly pay the added OnStar fee because the vehicle is a GM product, so GM will continue to explore making money with subscriptions while only putting the desirable options on the top-end models. There are plenty of other great vehicles out there that would put some of the garbage from GM to shame (and yes, my Grandpa worked for GM for over 50 years, so I used to be one of those die hard’s). People just have to shop around. The ride quality and the quality of materials in my ’22 Durango GT is miles ahead of my wife’s ’22 Blazer 2LT, and they were only about $3000 difference in MSRP.
They will blindly pay until the $$$ runs out & their credit is destroyed with a default.
Watch the repo wave hit this fall & winter. It’s just beginning.
Then you look at the IIHS safety ratings of the Blazer compared to the Durango…the Durango is way more comfortable than the Blazer for sure, but the safety ratings on the Durango make it a no-go.
*safety ratings* lololololololol
If you cared about safety you would get a Mercedes or BMW. Those are cars engineered for the Autobahn & it’s unlimited speed limits. No other car brand has to engineer cars to keep you alive in a 100-120 mph crash.
A latch ditch effort to save OnStar no doubt. These approaches never work.
Starting to look and sound like a page out the old business model of cable TV in regards to this Junk Star nonsense. You watch 10 stations but are forced to pay for 500 channels. Forced compliance. GM will have people walk because of this BS. You can’t fix stupid. What’s next., you need to make monthly donations to the GM fan club to be eligible to buy a GM product?
GM should just increase the MSRP for $1500. Then say customers will get the three-year OnStar and Connected Services for free.
That’s essentially what they’re doing. But the whiners will complain about anything.
At least for now, buy an equivalent Chevy.
So a base SLE AWD is now over 40K with a plastic urethane steering wheel, a 4 cylinder engine a manual driver’s seat and no remote start. Add those things in and your at 42K. That is sure a big price jump from just a few short years ago
With Onstar, you can start your car, lock/unlock from around the world so you don’t need remote start. And yet you still complain.
Why would I want to unlock and start my vehicle sitting in Canada while I am in Japan (or anywhere) on holiday???
You can’t remote start a vehicle with OnStar that doesn’t have remote start in the first place. It’s just an extension of that feature.
Just wondering will this S1500
Increase apply to the Canadian market also were cheap as it to ding us for another 1500 on top of the ridiculous msrp should be a crime buy gm no wonder more people drive Hyundai’s and Toyota in Canada with this on star nosense that nobody wants or ever uses
Dear gm, please walk this idea back. It is a bad idea, really stupid. You(gm) have been earning positive goodwill in the past couple of years. Don’t squander it on a stupid idea.
On Star rep: Hello, this is On Star, how can I help you?
Over charged gm customer: Oh, sorry, I hit the Money Star button by mistake reaching for my cell phone.
On Star rep: Oh, that OK. It’s nice to hear a human voice since it’s been 47 weeks since I took a real call.
Over charged gm customer: Oh really, that stinks. At least you have YouTube. Take care.
GM is in the right to charge for the Onstar service it’s needed . And yes GM die hard fans will gladly pay this increase along with others .
