2023 Chevy Camaro Park Assist Constraint Resolved

The 2023 Chevy Camaro had limited availability for the Rear Park Assist feature starting with the June 17th production date, however GM Authority has now learned that this feature returned to the vehicle in a regular capacity as of the July 24th production date.

The Rear Park Assist feature for the 2023 Chevy Camaro is standard on the 3LT, 2SS and ZL1 trim levels and across both Coupe and Convertible models. It’s not offered at all on other trim levels, which include the base 1LS, along with the 1LT, 2LT, LT1 and 1SS. GM’s Rear Park Assist technology uses sensors to provide “distance-to-object” and object location alerts to help drivers navigate tight spaces and park safely.

Production of the 2023 Chevy Camaro in both the Coupe and Convertible body styles began at the GM Lansing Grand River Plant in Michigan on June 17th, 2022. GM applied minor changes to the Chevy Camaro for the 2023 model year, including the addition of the new Radiant Red and Sharkskin Metallic exterior colors. Radiant Red will be offered with the Camaro’s various exterior Design Package equipment groups, while Sharkskin Metallic will be available with the Shock and Steel Special Edition package. The Camaro will also ditch the optional interior trim kits and sport pedals kit from the order book, as well as the Satin Black Package.

As a reminder, the Chevy Camaro engine lineup is comprised of four powertrain options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine, naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 gasoline engine, and supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine. It rides on the GM Alpha platform, with production taking place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  1. happy to see the 2023 Camaro being built. I am hoping for a ZL1 but they are so darn expensive. There is no shortage of used ones on the market but prices are high. About 3 years ago a local GM dealer had a 2012 ZL1 asking $46,000. he said it had 15,000 kilometers (under 10,000 miles. he said there were no service records because a mechanic at the dealership owned it….(how convenient)?….he gave me the keys and told me to start the engine. The starter was shot. As I walked away I said “this one should have a custom licence plate with the label “1/4 pounder”…probably been drag raced from day one.

  3. I originally ordered a 2021, a white with red interior, Camaro 2lt convertible with a six but agreed to change it to a 2022. The dealer tells me it was built with the red 2022 interior but it is being labelled and priced as a 2023. It should show up soon and I intend to hold the dealer to the original contract price or they can return my three grand deposit. GM is possibly pulling an accounting trick to reprice the last of the 2022s. The money is not the issue but corporate integrity is.

  5. I’ve been waiting for the 2022 2SS Camaro I ordered for some time. The dealer told me that it would be a 2023 instead and it would be a priority as customer orders are to be built first. But I’m really doubt GM really cares about it’s Camaro customers. The sales are there, so what is going on? It would be good more information on production would be put out at least weekly. And what about the vehicles that are already produced. I would like to be able to search on line for maybe 1 that is already for sale at a dealer anywhere. The current search tool brings up all of them. It needs to closer to the built being searched. Also they need to come up with a easier way to check vehicle status. I hope things speed up. I’m thinking of changing to a Charger, there’s more of them out there at dealers to buy!

    2. Well I checked with Chevrolet.com o the order number I had. Found out that my order was canceled by the dealer since it was a 2022 order. Thank goodness they ordered a 2023 with my configuration. I have the new order number and it’s waiting for GM to accept it. Whenever that will be! I hope it soon, I would be happy to see it built, even if it has to wait on chips!

  9. Friend got 17 2SS t-boned. Grew tired of waiting for 23 Camaro configurator to come online or to see photos of radiant red camaro. Ordered 23 C8 Z51 in Red Mist yesterday from small MS dealer, MSRP, no down payment, and told him they would contact him when they had build date. I told him I had read of buyers having wait times of more than a year for C8 and wished him luck.

  10. Ya it seems to be a very big disorganized mess over there at gm. Idk how they are building some and shipping them. While others are sat off to the side waiting on chips. Esp mine cuz its a basic build. Just an lt1 with a 6spd. Maybe it has to do with the tech pack which is the bose system.

  11. I purchased a 2022 LT1 on July, 30th. Couldn’t have been happier with the car for first 343 miles. Then after 7 days of ownership the car became a garage queen and wouldn’t leave again on its own power. Towed to the dealer and told BCM needs replaced. BCM is currently on back order.
