2023 Cadillac XT6 Gets New Opulent Blue Metallic Color: First Look

The 2023 Cadillac XT6 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Argent Silver Metallic, and Opulent Blue Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Blue hue.

Assigned RPO code GTR and touch-up paint code WA-705U, Opulent Blue Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the luxury crossover, which include:

  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Latte Metallic
  • Rosewood Metallic
  • Stellar Black Metallic
  • Wilder Metallic
  • Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Opulent Blue Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)

The Opulent Blue Metallic color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $625 to the vehicle’s price. This color is available on all trims and can be combined with all interior colorways.

For reference, here are all five available interior colorways offered on the 2023 XT6:

  • Cirrus with Dark Titanium accents
  • Cirrus with Jet Black accents
  • Dark Auburn with Jet Black accents
  • Kona Brown Sauvage with Jet Black accents
  • Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents

The 2023 Cadillac XT6 represents the fourth model year for the first-generation crossover. The 2023 model year brings only a few small updates and changes over the preceding 2022 model year, including several minor package-related changes plus the the aforementioned exterior colors.

As a reminder, the Cadillac XT6 crossover is offered with two engine options, starting with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard and only available on the base Luxury trim level. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, is standard on the higher end Premium Luxury and Sport trims. Output is routed through the GM nine-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive standard, and all-wheel drive available as an extra-cost option on Luxury and Premium Luxury, while being standard on Sport.

The XT6 rides on the GM C1 platform and production for North America takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. The 2023 Cadillac XT6 began rolling off the assembly line on June 10th, 2022.

  1. It is all ok, but miss those corrections in Design :

    A. It lacks the chrome frame on windshield and rear windows
    B. This orange Blinker at Fender must be white
    C. The Cadillac logos, on Grille and at rear, must be all chrome
    D. For me, must have a fine white or grey circular ribbon on Wall Tyres
    E. Would prefer the Outer mirror hold on window, instead door, but seems no other solution
    F. A Flying Hood Ornament Goddess would be nice if positioned

    1. I’d counter with…

      A. Chrome is dead. The movement these days is to remove chrome, not add it. See Sport trim level for what I mean.
      B. That’s not a blinker, but rather the side marker light. With a few exceptions, it must be amber per federal regulations.
      C. See A. Chrome is dead.
      D. Same category as chrome.
      E. The pedestal-style mount works better for aerodynamics. Also, even with the attachment you’re referring to, it would still technically be on the door.
      F. This one might be interesting, but I’m afraid that it’s also a deceased design trait. Mercedes and Jaguar were the last of the luxury automakers to have this, and even they have removed it in favor of an integrated grille logo. This movement will likely accelerate in the same direction with the proliferation of electric vehicles, which have no “grille” per se.

  2. Doesn’t even look like a Cadillac. Looks like whatever Chevy calls it’s crossover now with different lights and grill.

    1. Only that there is no Chevy crossover in North America that uses this version of the platform or these body stampings. Try again.

  3. Whoever chooses this color will get complements as long they keep it clean constantly.
