2022 GMC Sierra Titanium Rush Metallic Is Three Colors In One: Video

Among the most important updates debuting with the fully refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 is the GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate, the new luxury-laden, tech-heavy, fully loaded range-topper of the light-duty Sierra 1500 trim level cadence. Now, we’re taking a closer look at this particular 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate, which just so happens to be covered in optional Titanium Rush Metallic paint.

As it turns out, several GM Authority readers have reached out to ask about the new Titanium Rush Metallic paint color. Tagged with paint code G6M, Titanium Rush Metallic is offered as an optional extra for all 2022 GMC Sierra trim levels, with the exception of the base-model Pro. Pricing for the paint upgrade is $495. The paint is also available in conjunction with all interior colorways, including:

  • Alpine Umber
  • Atmosphere/Brownstone
  • Dark Walnut / Slate
  • Jet Black
  • Jet Black with Kalahari accents
  • Obsidian Rush

The following GM Authority video, hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, can hopefully answer some of our readers’ questions by providing a closer look at the Titanium Rush Metallic paint on this 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate.

“Is it black? Is it gray? Is it something else?” Luft asks in the video. “The answer to that question depends on the lighting conditions.”

As Luft explains, the new Titanium Rush Metallic paint appears black in most lighting conditions, but looks gray in other lighting conditions. Interestingly, the Titanium Rush Metallic paint even gives off a subtle shade of purple, if you look close enough.

Indeed, the Titanium Rush Metallic paint looks good, especially in conjunction with the Vader Chrome accents that are unique to the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate trim level. As a reminder, the Vader Chrome accents can be found on the grille, the badging, and elsewhere.

As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, while the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax is optional. The truck rides on the GM T1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Silao plant in Mexico and GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana.

  1. Just another one from the Fifty Shades of Gray Collection.

  2. I would have like to watched the video, but with google ads covering the screen, who wants to watch it! Too much distraction on a small screen.

    1. Are you wearing your glasses? Nothing is covering the play button on the video, or the video in general. Are we looking at the same thing?

  3. Great, thanks for the detailed video Alex. Much appreciated.

    1. My pleasure!

  4. Still no panoramic roof or even a bump in horsepower worth mentioning. Every truck in this segment now has a panoramic roof save for the GM twins. 🤦‍♂️

  5. It would been more helpful if you moved the truck into sunlight, as well as shade for contrast.

    1. I could see all three shades in the video. Well done Alex.

  6. Should have done the video in the sun. waste of time.

  7. Doesn’t matter what color it is I ain’t buying no 3.0 turbo Diesel engine. Instead of halting production when they didn’t have enough 6.2 V8 engines they started throwing what was available in them including the 5.3 V8. No more Super Cruise until the 2023 model year either. Big disappointment for a luxury truck with all the hype.

    1. What do you have against the Diesel. I have the 3.0 DURAMAX in my Sierra and love it. Great power, great mileage and quiet.

Don’t knock it until you try it….

    2. to be quite frank… you sound like a literal idiot.. that turbo diesel has a couple minor flaws and the normal diesel maintenance stuff lazy people don’t want to deal with… but outside of that… the engine is great and almost bullet proof…
