Per previous GM Authority coverage, some units of the first two model years for the Cadillac CT4 include multiple infotainment system controls. Now, however, with the introduction of the 2022 Cadillac CT4, the redundant infotainment control arrangement has changed.
To begin, we should first briefly summarize the GM Authority coverage thus far regarding the Cadillac CT4 infotainment control layout. As covered previously, some 2020 and 2021 Cadillac CT4 models include two sets of physical controls for the infotainment system, which is the result of the multiple engine and transmission configurations on offer. Powertrain options include the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which connects to the GM 8-speed automatic transmission, and the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, which connects to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. The 8-speed incorporates a conventional shift lever, which doesn’t allow the space for a console mounted rotary dial and surrounding buttons, while the 10-speed incorporates the GM Electronic Precision Shift Lever, which does leave room for a rotary dial and surrounding buttons. The end result is that 2020 and 2021 Cadillac CT4 Premium Luxury and CT4-V trim levels, which include the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine and 10-speed automatic transmission, also incorporate multiple control sets for the infotainment system.

This all changes for some 2022 Cadillac CT4 variants, with all units equipped with the GM 10-speed automatic and turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine no longer incorporating a center stack volume and selection knob.
Meanwhile, 2022 Cadillac CT4 Luxury models, as well as Premium Luxury and Sport models with the LSY engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, and CT4-V Blackwing models with the manual transmission, continue to include the stack-mounted volume and selection knobs below the touchscreen, but not the rotary dial or surrounding buttons, as there is not enough room for them on the center console.
As a reminder, the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while output from the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine varies between 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, and 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Under the body panels, the 2022 Cadillac CT4 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform, with production taking place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
