The 2023 GMC Sierra HD is the final model year for the nameplate before the introduction of a full model refresh for the 2024 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 GMC Sierra HD is currently unavailable to order with three specific wheel options.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2023 GMC Sierra HD is unavailable to order with three LPO-level 20-inch alloy wheels. For those readers who may be unaware, an LPO-level option is installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced. Vehicles optioned with LPO wheels are shipped with temporary wheel sets.
The three 20-inch wheels currently unavailable for the 2023 GMC Sierra HD are listed as follows (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- 20-inch high gloss Black painted wheels (SHH)
- 20-inch multi-dimensional Chrome aluminum wheels (SKW)
- 20-inch high gloss Black aluminum wheels with machined accents (SKX)
The 20-inch high gloss Black painted wheels are normally optional for 2023 GMC Sierra HD AT4 and Denali trim levels, but are not offered on Pro, SLE, or SLT trim levels. Pricing was set at $2,995. Meanwhile, the 20-inch multi-dimensional Chrome aluminum wheels are normally optional for the Denali trim level, and are not offered on Pro, SLE, SLT, or AT4 trims, with pricing previously set at $3,195. Finally, the 20-inch high gloss Black aluminum wheels with machined accents are normally optional for AT4 and Denali trim levels, and are not offered for Pro, SLE, or SLT trims, with pricing previously set at $2,295.
It should also be noted that the 20-inch high gloss Black painted wheels option was no longer available to order for the 2022 GMC Sierra HD since mid-April of this year, as GM Authority covered previously.
As a reminder, the 2023 GMC Sierra HD is offered with two powerplant options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.

I have a new 2022 Sierra 1500 SLT v8 6.2 white. Love this truck. The only thing I would change is the black interior to tan or grey.
I miss the old days when you could order what the hell you wanted on your vehicle regardless of the trim level selected. Special orders were not uncommon at all… Now, one has to pray the manufacturer & dealer can read your mind because if you ask for a “special order” these days, you will get laughed out of the dealer. For example, I asked a Ford dealer if I could order a plain-jane Ford F-150 short box pickup with the Ford Predator motor (I wanted to twin-turbo it)… A vehicle I was thinking of modifying myself… I was told no way. The motor would have to be ordered separately and then installed… The closest I could come would be ordering it with the Coyote motor and then having the Ford dealer supercharge it to keep the warranty valid.
Good pikap ram, gmc.
