The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 is the fourth model year for the fourth-generation light-duty pickup nameplate, introducing a full model refresh with an extensive list of changes and updates. Now, GM Authority has learned that a few 22-inch wheel options for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 are once again available to order.
According to GM Authority sources, the following 22-inch wheel options for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 are no longer under constraint (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- 22-inch Bright Chrome six-split-spoke wheels (SF1)
- 22-inch Bright Chrome multi-spoke wheels (SSW)
Meanwhile, several other optional 22-inch wheels for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 are still unavailable to order, including:
- 22-inch Bright Chrome wheels (SF0)
- 22-inch Bright Chrome split-spoke wheels (SSI)
- 22-inch High Gloss Black multi-spoke wheels (SRV)
In addition, these 22-inch wheels have been available since the production start of the 2022 Sierra 1500:
- 22-inch High Gloss Black wheels (SGM)
- 22-inch Polished aluminum wheels (SEU)
- 22-inch Carbon Flash Metallic wheels (SEZ)
To note, all these wheel options listed here are considered LPO-level equipment, which means that rather than being installed at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced, the wheels are installed at the dealer, with the vehicle instead shipped on four steel 22-inch wheels from the factory, including the proper alignment specs.
Back in March, GM Authority exclusively reported that all five of the optional 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 wheels listed above were unavailable to order. In fact, some of the wheels have been unavailable since January. Now, however, two of the previously unavailable 22-inch wheel options are once again available.
Each of the optional wheels listed are normally offered on SLT and Denali trim levels. Pricing is set at $3,495 on most models, with the exception of the 22-inch High Gloss Black multi-spoke wheels (RPO code SRV) and the 22-inch Carbon Flash Metallic wheels (SEZ), which are priced at $3,195, as well as the the 22-inch High Gloss Black wheels (SGM) and Polished aluminum wheels (SEU), which are priced at $2,995.
As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 is normally offered with four engine options, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and finally, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. Under the body panels is the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

Instead of posting these “Availability” articles every day, why doesn’t GM Authority simply create a sticky at the top of the page listing each and every one of the GM items that are not available? The list would have to be updated multiple times per day, but it would save space for other articles.
We get it, over the past 1 1/2 years, the US has fallen on very hard times: Countless items are unavailable (or almost impossible to find). Baby formula, diapers, electronics, auto parts, pet food, etc.. On top of that, prices across the board have soared to unparalleled heights by as much as 38-42% (US Dept. of Labor Statistics): Petroleum, steel, iron, aluminum, beef, poultry, fish, basic utilities, furniture & bedding, etc..
Does anyone know what a set of the 22-inch wheels would cost? I just bought a few months ago a 2022 GMC Sierra with 20-inch wheels.
There are countless wheel and tire companies on the net. Do a search, find what you’re looking for, compare prices, read plenty of reviews and make a purchase if it fits your budget. It won’t be cheap, as you will have to purchase both wheels and tires. I’m assuming ~$3-4k for a complete set-up.
Why would anyone want 22″ rims on a pickup truck… In doing so, you have to use a lower profile tire eliminating ride comfort due to a lack of sidewall. The sidewall of a tire is normally taken into consideration when developing a vehicle’s suspension and ride comfort.
Not to mention that the OEM size that GM uses only has all season tires available for those 22 inch wheels. Not a big deal for highway driving….unless you’re going through the mountains and chain laws are in effect. Those all seasons don’t meet chain requirements so you’d legally have to install chains which aren’t compatible with the 22 inch wheels. Makes the truck a huge compromise.
Good point, I have no interest in these. Never be in to that look.
The Denali suspension is what offers a smooth drive on 22″.
My Dad purchased a new 2021 High Country last year with the 22″ wheel option and the truck rides like a dream. GM took into account the 22″ wheels and has the suspension tuned for the large wheel and thinner sidewall.
No two people are the same and not everyone will want the same options as you want. It is why GM offers tons of different options, so most people will find what suits them best. 🙂
Can I just get my truck that I ordered in November? I see where trucks are sent to dealers that are on YouTube so why can’t I just get mine???
I recently bought a GMC Acadia Denali that came with 20″ rims with Michelin tires. I picked up for $200 a set of 18 alloy rims with used Blizzack winter tires…. The 18″ rims with the high sidewall of the blizzack winter tires equals the same height of the all season tires on the 20″ rims. The only difference is that I will not have the tire pressure sensors in my winter tires and after 62 years on this planet, I can tell just by looking at tires if they are missing air in the bottom half of the tire.
