The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Finally Goes On Sale In Mexico

The new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV was launched in Mexico in August 2021 and was scheduled to go on sale a month later, but the plan was abruptly interrupted by the announcement of the massive battery pack recall due to a fire risk. Nine months later, sales of the 2022 Bolt EUV have finally started in the Latin country.

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV joins the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV as the Bow Tie brand’s two global all-electric crossovers – except in China, where the Chevy Menlo EV specifically developed for that market is offered. The first deliveries of the Bolt EUV to Mexican consumers have now begun.

“Chevrolet Bolt EUV is distinguished by its technology, interior space, excellent driving range, and regenerative braking, giving customers more reasons to switch to an electric car,” said Marketing Manager for Electric and Sports Vehicles at GM Mexico, Carlos de la Mora, in a statement. “Chevy Bolt EUV embodies GM’s vision of achieving a Zero-Emissions future,” he added.

As GM Authority reported last year, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV initially arrives in Mexico exclusively in the LT trim level. In other markets such as Middle East, South Korea, and South America, the Bolt EUV is offered exclusively in the Premier trim.

Based on the GM BEV2 platform, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is equipped with an electric motor that delivers 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. It is powered by a 65 kWh battery pack with a driving range of 239 miles (397 kilometers). The vehicle includes a new dual home charger with a standard 120-volt outlet and an additional 240-volt level 2 outlet, along with with a 32.8-foot (10-meter) cord. GM Mexico offers customers free installation of the charging station in their homes.

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is now available for sale at the Chevrolet EV dealer network in Mexico, which currently has just eight locations in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Queretaro, Toluca, and Puebla. The 2022 Bolt EUV LT is priced at 939,900 MXN or $48,020 at current exchange rates.

  1. Just for the record, the percentage of fire in EVs is much lower than gas vehicles. 10 fold lower.

  2. The size of a Trailblazer with the price of a Blazer. And people wonder why EVs haven’t caught on yet.

    1. Actually it has more to do with lack of availability. It will take quite a while for manufacturers to ramp up production. There’s quite a waiting list for Ford Lightening EV pickups. They actually closed the waiting list. And there’s a big waiting list for the Chevy Silverado EV that won’t even be available for another year.

  3. Bolts won’t last long in Mexico , those road will destroy a Bolt quick , not nearly enough ground clearance and are very rough, Mexico’s roads will destroy the Bolts suspension real fast

  4. Pourquoi ils vendent des Bolts au Mexique et moi ça fait 10 mois que j’attends et mon conseiller me dit qu’elle n’est pas encore commencé à construire ou est le problème. Une réponse positive serait apprécié. Merci GM pour me répondre.

  5. Sending the Bolt to Mexico is a huge mistake, those roads will tear that thing to pieces , take it on some cobblestone streets and watch the parts fly off of it. Lol

    1. There are plenty of perfectly fine highways in Mexico. And streets as well. Occasionally there are cobblestones but obviously there is a solution to this highly complex issue: Drive slow! Or take a taxi or Uber.
