The unique Minted Green 2023 Corvette Z06 and the associated NFT artwork that Chevy is currently auctioning off via an online marketplace have so far only attracted a high bid of around $4,100.
This NFT auction went live on the Web3 marketplace Super Rare on June 20th, with GM offering up a one-of-one 2023 Corvette Z06 finished in the exclusive Minted Green exterior color, along with an associated digital artwork/NFT of the vehicle created by an artist who goes by the name xsullo. The auction currently has a high bid of only 4.0 Ethereum, equivalent to just over $4,100 at the current exchange rate. Bidding for the auction was supposed to close on June 24th, however it seems as though Super Rare users can still place bids on it as of this writing.
A recent report from Bloomberg indicates that sales of Non-Fungible Tokens, or NFTs, have been “spiralling downward” in recent weeks after an initial frenzy in 2021, leading many valuable NFT works to crash in price. An NFT is a piece of digital data that is stored on a blockchain ledger, which makes them uniquely identifiable and therefore irreplicable, or “non-fungible.” As an NFT cannot be replicated, the digital artwork that represents the associated digital data stored on the blockchain can be sold or traded between users on an online marketplace.
All proceeds from this auction, assuming it will still go ahead, will benefit DonorsChoose, a nonprofit organization that allows American public school teachers to request and receive school supplies for everyday classroom work or special student projects.
As an interesting aside, the unique Minted Green paint on the 2023 Corvette Z06 auction prize will not be covered by GM’s factory warranty, as it will be painted by a third-party shop, rather than at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. The prize vehicle also comes equipped with the Z07 Performance Package and will be delivered to the customer through an official Chevrolet dealership of their choosing.

If only they chose a better marketplace to sell it on. NFT’s associated with vehicles & any type of ownership will be the way of the future.
It won’t go higher then that because crypto is crashing.
Why would you trade for an RS over an SS
The only reason I love my RS is the Riverside Blue and the labor of love in customizing it. Now it is finished. Here in 2022 my car is now worth $35k and I bought it for $26k. Since I was given crazy high money for my trade back then I saved enough for the Bilstein PSS Nordscliffe adjustable suspension w/lowering springs and the Edelbrock Supercharger. But it really does get almost 30mpg. Best of both worlds IMO. If there is a place to upload pics I will.
Umm…does anyone know where I can do that?
..lime green on a Corvette….you got to be kidding…no GM warranty on paint. First thing I would do is get the sand paper out and scuff that weird paint off the car. I would then find a nice dark Brittish racing green color and do the car justice. Hopefully the interior is not messed up as well…
Maybe I’m just too old-school. But the fact that offers are accepted in crypto only and now that crypto is crashing doesn’t surprise me that there’s so little interest. But that’s just me
Maybe there would be more interest if GM actually sprayed and warrantied the paint???
I knew this auction was going to flop when I first read it was going to be in a Crypto currency.
I didnt know that it was a crypto deal. I apologize. It was that color and the audasity of the machine that makes me want to go for a long test drive. I hope the new owner will not just drive it for a few weeks, then let it sit in his or her collection as an investment for 30 years. Nobody will get to truly enjoy it. It is about what is best for the car.
Wow….
I thought it was some factory one off. If its a custom one off….like mine….its true value is only the enjoyment of the owner. But, It sounds like it was a scam. When the bid got to 4 grand someone paid up and got nothing.
Well, I dont care about the fake charity rip off Corvette thing anyway.
I care about China importing cars here. We hsve to fire up the factories and make things ourselves. Eventually we have to fight China’s aggresion.
