Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD customers interested in adding a little extra aural punch to their pickup can do so with this new exhaust from Hooker Blackheart, as featured in the following 1-minute video.
The new Hooker Blackhfeart exhaust system is designed to fit 2015 through 2019 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks, including both 2500HD and 3500HD models, equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.0L V8 L96 gasoline engine. From the factory, this powerplant is rated at 360 horsepower at 5,400 rpm and 380 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm, but according to Hooker Blackheart, the new exhaust upgrade frees up an extra 8 ponies and 8 pound-feet of twist at the rear wheels thanks to its free-flow design.
The new Hooker Blackheart exhaust replaces the factory pipes from the catalytic converter back, and incorporates a 3.5-inch diameter, mandrel-bent, 409 stainless steel construction. The muffler is also lightweight, cutting 12 pounds as compared to the standard system. Spent gasses are expelled through a single 5-inch polished rear tip, with an angle-cut end and the Hooker logo laser-etched into it for a dash of style.
Notably, the exhaust is only made to fit the Crew Cab / Standard Bed body style.
In addition to making a bit more power, this new cat-back exhaust for the Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD also makes a nice noise, as seen in the video. At just 60 seconds in length, the video is simple and to the point, letting us hear the new exhaust on startup, as well as a few stationary revs and the whole thing accelerating at full-throttle as well.
Pricing for the new exhaust is set at $598.95, as listed at Holley.com.
