The 2023 Cadillac XT5 is the seventh model year of the current first-gen nameplate, introducing only a handful of changes and updates as compared to the previous 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned when the start of regular production for the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will begin.
According to GM Authority sources, production of the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will begin on June 10th, 2022. The crossover will once again be produced at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, the same facility that produces the Cadillac XT6, GMC Acadia, and Cadillac Lyriq EV crossovers.
Per previous GM Authority coverage, the 2023 Cadillac XT5 ushers in a revised exterior paint options list, with three colors previously offered for the 2022 model year no longer available. The deleted exterior paint options include Satin Steel Metallic (paint code G9K) Dark Moon Blue Metallic (paint code GLU), and Infrared Tintcoat (paint code GSK).
These three outgoing colors are replaced with three new colors, including Radiant Red Tintcoat (paint code GNT), Opulent Blue Metallic (paint code GTR), and Argent Silver Metallic (paint code GXD). Argent Silver Metallic will not include an extra charge, whereas Radiant Red Tintcoat and Opulent Blue Metallic will.
The Cadillac XT5 is now once again available to order with heated and ventilated seats. Both features were previously under constraint since March.
The 2023 Cadillac XT5 was originally set to receive a brand-new second generation for the 2023 model year. However, the generational overhaul was subsequently delayed until the 2024 model year. The current first-generation crossover made its debut for the 2017 model year, with a refresh introduced for the 2020 model year.
As a reminder, the Cadillac XT5 is offered with two powertrain options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, as well as the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine. Both engine options mate to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, while under the skin, the crossover rides on the GM C1 platform.

Why is the Radiant Red Tint coat an upcharge on the XT-5 but not on the XT-4? Something doesn’t seem right about this. More GM shenanigans.
The bigger the suv the more paint it needs.
I never had a new color where the outside start killing before my lease was up And I have the insurance that I spent $1500 to cover scratches and stuff fading on my car when I took it back to paradise they act like they didn’t want to even devise it I’m very upset with them Can you help me With my 2019 I had a 2016 and it didn’t do this
We are driving a 2020 and a 2021 great suv’s.. GM always screw up either changing color names or packages what’s the reason?? I’m sure it has to do with cost
XT6 is built at same plant as XT5
When will the 2023 XT6 begin production?
This aging dinosaur is in desperate need of a complete redesign. I understand the business side of sharing platforms to reduce costs, but I just don’t know who this product is for. The XT5 does not have Cadillac performance, Cadillac level luxury, or Cadillac presence. Every other carmaker has updated their midsize luxury SUVs during this same time period. Between the XT4, XT5 and XT6, the XT5 has the best profile and presence, but it does not measure up to Audi, MB, or BMW.
I will stay American . I like my decision XT5
I’m glad you like your XT5. In 2021, the XT4, XT5, and XT6 totaled 60,000 US sales. The BMX X3, X5, and X7 totaled almost 160,000 US sales. The numbers are not in GMs favor.
XT5 is head and shoulders above of a BMW unless you like $ 250 oil changes à nd a junk engine and Audi is a over priced Volkswagen that has a ton of issues to many to post plus the last time Volkswagen made to decent vehicle was the air cooled VW Bug 40yrs ago !
I agree with your sentiment, but the numbers don’t lie. My daily driver is a Chevrolet and it is the 5th brand new GM vehicle we have purchased since 2003. However, the XT5 in its current form struggles to justify the cost increase over the newer Chevrolet Blazer. Since 2017, the US sales of the XT5 have decreased yearly from a high of 68000 to 28000 last year. The Blazer on the other hand has been much more successful selling a high of 94000 in 2020 and 70000 last year. In comparison, the BMW X5 sold 60000 X5s last year. The point being the XT5 resides in the smoking hot midsize luxury SUV space and it is underperforming badly. The XT5 is outsold by a nonluxury midsize sibling that starts at $10000 less and is also outsold by a luxury competitor that starts at $15000 more.
My daughter bought a used 2018 xt5 after I drove it Yes a fantastic suv. Rides so well and quiet.
Best suv we have had yet!! So we bought a 2022 xt5 premium luxury..
The XT 5 and the XT6 need to do something about the back and side it looks ugly !! Please make a change !!
glad that is your opinion ,,i’ll stick with mine
The XT5 is a very well built and safe suv. Rides like no other. 6 cylinder engine has plenty of hp. The sport mode in the 9 speed tranny works well. And then the looks of it so classy . My dad drove caddy’s all my life and now I can too.
All other brands has upgraded their vehicles features to include 360 deg cameras, digital dashboard etc.
Such important minimal luxury features are missing in Cadillac XT4, 5 and 6.
