SAIC-GM-Wuling, the joint venture between GM, SAIC Motor, and Liuzhou Wuling Motors, revealed the all-new Wuling Air EV – the brand’s first global-market zero-emission vehicle. The new minicar made its world debut in Indonesia, the only country outside China where SGMW has a significant presence and a manufacturing plant.
The all-new Wuling Air EV is the third all-electric mini car developed by GM’s Chinese division, following the Mini EV, the best-selling electric vehicle in China for 16 consecutive months, and the new Nano EV launched last year. The Air EV is the first fully developed electric vehicle with the brand’s new global image and will be the first to be officially introduced to international markets.
The Wuling Air EV is the fourth next-generation vehicle to adopt the new look, including the Global Silver logo and the automaker’s new design language. It follows the Wuling Victory, the new Asta (Xing Chen) crossover, and the all-new Jia Chen MPV.
Based on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform developed locally by SGMW in China, the Wuling Air EV features a modern appearance distinguishing it from any other vehicle, with a front fascia that features a horizontal bar extending to the sideview mirrors, and integrates LED daytime running lights.
The unique design continues with the rear-quarter windows that are taller than the door and rear windows, but lining up with the vertical trim panel housing the door handles. The rear section replicates the front design with a full-width stripe that includes the car’s name and additional brake lights at the ends. The vehicle is 117 inches long, 59.3 inches wide, and 64.2 inches tall, riding on a 79.1-inch wheelbase.
The Wuling Air EV made its world debut in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the mini car was selected as the official vehicle for the 2022 G20 Summit to be held in that country next November. It will be introduced later in China and will go on sale in the second half of the year to broaden the company’s EV portfolio, including the Wuling MINI EV, Wuling Nano EV, and Baojun KiWi EV.

Great city vehicle for Us markets
I don’t think it could be brought to the US (or EU) as I don’t think it would meet safety standards. It would sell for sure though. I thought price was like 6K equiv USD. I think I have seen EV assist bikes cost that much here.
The GM team will sell these in the Millions around the Developing World. Millions
