GM has released a new series of teaser images that provide a glimpse of various interior features for the Cadillac Celestiq show car, teeing up the future release of the full-production Cadillac Celestiq luxury halo sedan.
In an announcement, Cadillac states that the Celestiq show car draws its design inspiration “from periods of Cadillac’s 120-year heritage for a bold vision of the future,” combining “exceptional craftsmanship and technology.”
“The Celestiq exterior and interior were designed together to reflect a holistic vision of what American luxury can be,” said Cadillac interior design manager, Tristan Murphy. “With Celestiq, we’ve created an even higher level of craft, allowing us to add that beautiful sense of movement through the cabin.”
The images released tease a variety of different features for the Cadillac Celestiq show car, including the center console, metal overlays for the speakers, the seats, seat adjustment controls, and even the door hinges. A few exterior elements are also shown, such as a taillight, a fender, and a wheel.
Although impressive, each image includes a disclaimer that the vehicle shown is the Cadillac Celestiq show car, and that the features are not for sale. That said, the final production version of the sedan will offer a hand-built quality to it that will also be extremely customizable. As GM Authority exclusively covered previously, that means custom details on par with the Bespoke departments at Rolls-Royce and Bentley – for example, customers can elect to use wood from a specific tree of their choosing for the interior trim.
Production numbers will be very low, with limited quantities sold only in “affluent areas.” Standout features include GM’s next-generation Ultra Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system, as well as a SmartGlass roof with programmable opacity levels that will provide further customization opportunities.
The cabin space will incorporate a 2+2 seating arrangement for passengers, while the powertrain and drivetrain will incorporate the latest GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium drive motor technologies. Pricing is expected to start around $200,000.
Further details on the Cadillac Celestiq show car are expected through the summer, with production vehicle availability to be announced at a later date.

The Republican run oil companies have stopped any legislation to stop price gauging.
Actually the President does have some power/leverage over the US oil companies. The problem is that Joe Biden condemned the oil companies to extinction; they are not going to cooperate with him. It would be different if we had a president that worked with industry better to do a smoother transition to some alternative fuel vehicles. The country is in a desperate need for a new refinery. No provisions have been made to have one. The US oil companies have been making a slow transition to alternative resources, and they have not been investing as much in new oil exploration. The climate for oil exploration has been made much more difficult by the Biden administration. He should at least have the courtesy to meet with the oil executives in person.

As far as designing and hand-building the car, the most advanced thing I ever designed and hand-built was a popsicle stick birdhouse back in 3rd grade. I'll send you a teaser shot of it if you want to try to judge its interior material quality ;)

Wondering how anyone can tell what materials are used from a picture? Everything I see could be leather, stainless and aluminum. I’m not a fan of the whole idea of this car but I don’t feel the need to knock the quality and craftsmanship until it has been seen and touched in person.

Those seats have a similar design of the '60 era Cadillacs. I'm liking of what I'm seeing here.
There's a bunch of other color options available as well. There's a blue in particular that looks sweet, similar to the Lincoln Navigator's "Flight Blue" interior.
The color sequencing is definitely one of the callbacks to Cadillac's better years.
