SAIC-GM, General Motors’ main joint venture in China, announced the launch of a new special edition of the Cadillac CT6 to commemorate the luxury brand’s 120th Anniversary.
The automaker will unveil the new Cadillac CT6 120th Anniversary Edition on Monday, June 27th, during a special event in Shanghai, as a prelude to the brand’s official anniversary celebration in August. China is currently the only country where the Cadillac CT6 is sold after production ceased in Detroit in 2020.
The Cadillac CT6 120th Anniversary Edition’s first image shows that it will be based on the 2022 Sport trim level, with slight changes. This new special edition uses a V-shaped mesh grille, sporty rocker panels, black window surrounds, a small decklid spoiler, and specific blacked-out wheels.
Production of this new special edition will be limited to 300 units. It will be the last version released based on the current model before the official debut of the next-generation CT6 that GM Authority captured undergoing testing in March. The second-generation Cadillac CT6 is expected to be introduced in China later this year as a 2023 model.
Under the hood, the Cadillac CT6 120th Anniversary Edition maintains the familiar turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine that develops 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, matched to the GM ten-speed automatic transmission.
During the official presentation, SAIC-GM will reveal all the design and feature details as well as pricing of the full-size sedan’s commemorative edition that celebrates a new milestone for the brand’s rich and long history.

I think the 120th anniversary edition CT6 should be brought to America with ultra luxurious features and big chrome wheels.
This is mechanically such a great car and one of the few big cars that handles like a midsizer. Omega should have been used for Lacrosse therefore creating more of a gap between it and Regal.
GM has no problem selling Chinese imports like Envision. Am suprised CT6 isn’t imported the same way since China is Cadillac’s primary market. I’ve seen the next CT6 in pictures and it’s coupe-like profile isn’t graceful or pretty.
No more imported Chinese crap especially at $60k + a pop. At that price they can afford to build it in the US.
How much Chinese made stuff do you have? You probably don’t even know.
I have a lot of Chinese made stuff because there is no choice in most cases. There is a big difference between a $10 shirt or $300 television and a $60k car.
This is a car that show be for sale in North America and Europe and not only in China. White China receives the best cars, in the rest of the planet receives boring and unpractical SUV’S and crossovers. A sedan like the CT6 I would definitively buy. An SUV or a crossover, never.
But what can you do? It’s a crossover world, even if most people who buy them don’t really need them.
At 6’4″ tall, I do not fit in many vehicles… The caddy, believe it or not, is one I do NOT fit in unless you are thinking of the Escalade. Cars, I can pretty much forget. So I am stuck with trucks (love them) or crossovers, or SUVs if they are of decent size.
I have a 2018 CT6 2.0E plug-in and it takes roundabouts like there is nothing. It is truly impressive to drive.
Sadly it’s not gonna happen, but wait for the

June 27th is my 71st birthday. Hey Cadillac, send me a CT6 hybrid!
without chips???
Ha! There only 591 sold in ZEV states in 2017-2018. I picked a 2018 with 575 miles in March 2020 right before lock down. Having owned many cars under other brands it is one of my favorite and do not forsee anything to replace it anytime soon.
Bring the CT6 back to the North American market!

At $200K+… No thank you!
You may not have a choice
Who really believes that the average Chinese citizen cares about Cadillac’s 120 year anniversary?? Although I think it’s pretty cool.
CT6 isn’t for me but I definitely see a (small) market for it in the US, especially if GM can get the interior quality at least on par with its German, Japanese, and Korean rivals. Not every old person wants a Cadillac small sedan or SUV!
We have a 2018 CT6 2.0E plug-in and the interior is on par for what we paid for it. Nothing is a result of cheapness and no rattles or squeaks so far.
If the Cadillac CT6 (which I owned and loved) – was based off of the current technology and interior advancement of the new Escalades – production would have easily tripled.
Our 2018 is one of our favorite cars over the decades. Handles and drives Ike a dream!
Sad time in the U.S.A., that we are losing so much freedom of choice in vehicles and China has so much freedom of choice in a vehicle..
In China, the elite will be quite interested in this anniversary, this is one of the countries that import a lot of expensive car brands Cadillac, Audi.
