The Corvette C8 will receive a refreshed interior, GM Authority has learned, which could potentially arrive for the 2024 model year.
This interior overhaul for the current Corvette will implement small improvements and changes based on owner feedback. We know the inductive phone charged will either be improved or relocated, as it’s currently located in a rather awkward position between the two seats and below the waterfall speaker grille, making it a bit difficult to access. GM pushed an over-the-air update to the Corvette C8 this year that added a notification feature for the charging pad, as many owners were exiting the vehicle and forgetting it was located in this strangely-positioned pocket. There will also be a passenger grab handle for easier ingress/egress, similar to the interior grab handle on the Corvette C7, along with other small comfort and usability tweaks.
We first reported on this cabin redesign for the Corvette C8 back in February, but while we considered it to be a rumor at that point, our intel now suggests this overhaul is indeed on the way. That story, which cited sources from a Corvette enthusiast forum, also indicated the row of buttons placed along the right-hand side of the center console would be relocated and/or reconfigured in some way. It seems possible the cabin refresh may also include a new display screen and/or digital dash display, new interior upholstery colors and other new options and features.
The 2023 model year Corvette Stingray is equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, which is rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in standard spec, and 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque when equipped with the factory performance exhaust system. Output is routed exclusively to the rear wheels by way of the GM eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. The 2023 model year also sees the introduction of the new high-performance 2023 Corvette Z6 model variant, which equips the new DOHC 5.5L LT6 flat-plane crank V8 engine.

Get rid of the infotainment, computer, tv screen, or at best make it like the C7 with a hidey hole behind it. The C8 screen is breaking up the flowing lines of the interior design.
Former GM and early Corvette stylist, Robert Cumberford, heavily critized the C8 design when it first came out. I always thought he penned some fine looking vehicles. Perhaps they’ll take some of his advice into account.
The HVAC flying buttress is one of the most ergonomic, intuitive innovations I’ve seen in *any car, ever. A few practice drills, and you, too, can feel your way down the column, adjusting things without taking your eyes off the road. IMHO, it makes even the most hyper exotic feel quaint by comparison.

Here I am waiting to get a vette and this happens I think the vette C7 is and always will be the perfect vette that has ever been made the c8 is a bit flimsy by body panels and the interior might as well be held with a nail or Titanium screws because it’s bad quality it makes all other automotive companies have superior builds which the C8 lacks all over the place and the 6.2 engine what a waste of engine engineering they could’ve just introduced a new LS engine and made all vette fans fall in love with the vette they have but no GM has their heads up where the sun don’t shine and kept it there forever to make awful car experiences.
Reading the above negative post has moved me to provide a counter opinon. i have owned both C7 and C8 models as well as 3 other vettes, and while the C7 is a great car, the C8 eclipses it in almost every area. My C8 HTC has had zero problems in 18months; the interior assembly, fit and quality of the materials is flawless in this car as is the exotic look and driving feel. In regard to any feeling of flimsy body panels you mentioned, I have seen none of that and also my body panel fit and finish is great. The paint on my C8, Red Mist, is far above the quality of my ’14 C7. Re the C8’s engine, it obviously s seems that you do not own one nor have likely driven one, because the acceleration in the midengine design is truly amazing and the effect of the engine placement has resulted in a quantum leap in the precision of the handling compared to the older design C7. So while the C7 is and will always be considered a great design in all aspects and is the apex highpoint of the front engine Corvettes, GM has produced an incredible new platform in the C8 and the fact that even the base car’s chassis design will eventually be able to handle an ICE engine capable of 1000HP, speaks volumes for GMs design team.

The wall of buttons is intimidating but if owners can get used to it, and their passengers don’t mind being walled off, ok. My suggestion is to simplify the car’s rear end design. It has so many gadgets and gimmicks, it looks like a display at Autozone.

My wife would appreciate a handle, not sure where a phone can go other than its current location, as awkward as that center pocket is.
It would be worth the extra 2 lb of aluminum in the central spine to me to have a deeper center compartment.
I would like the phone in my view, the article is spot on about that. I gave some rides this weekend, having no where for a passenger to hang on does seem odd and will be welcomed also. For getting in and out of car for sure.
Otherwise, for me the 2021 C8 is …. just right. I do not drive a lot of things, not much to compare to.
I get in the cockpit, and it is like flying, close to the ground. As commented here, once I learned all the HVAC by feel,
no problem.
Something no one ever mentions ? The built in Nav system has a voice feature – and it is HORRIBLE. nothing is ever understood or found, and it refuses to let you type while driving. And it cannot understand the simplest of one syllable words. So I use the nav in my phone, which is attached to a wire , stuffed in the cup holder. But using the screen with CarPlay.

Never got the OTA Update that provided the alert when a cell phone was still in the cradle. We were still away at our winter place around then. Maybe I didn’t get it because the car was still parked in the garage when it was pushed. Would have thought that when the car “re-appeared” on the network I would have received it, but no…..
Same here, I forced the system to look for updates and was rewarded with a message indicating that the system is up to date. So far I have only seen a message remining me to grab my phone in the DIC in some one else’s C-8.
I read somewhere that the “Check for Updates” on the Infotainment System pages ONLY checks if there are updates for the APPs, but not other OTA updates. Not sure if that is accurate – although it would explain why we’re being told the system is up to date when we know there are OTA updates that hadn’t been installed. Following on – that means the ONLY way to get “missed” OTAs is to go to the dealer – which is not my favorite place to take the car.

I’m in the process of ordering a 2023 Corvette. I sure would like to see the new interior, so I can determine on whether to wait or go ahead with my purchase of the 70th anniversary Corvette. I have a ton of bucks riding on this car, and I want to make the best decision. What would some of you others do? Thanks.
Now, here is a question to ponder on. Since the 2023 will most likely be the last year of the “Great Wall of Buttons,” will the 2023 be considered the next holy grail in ten or more years?
I have had several corvettes, the latest a 2014 2LT convertible. My 2023 LT2 convertible? All i can say is thank you GM. Outstanding inside and out. The little things very few people notice, like the 3 dimensional dash components. You either love it or think it is a waste of time, but i promise you, no other car manufacturer has put such artistry in the dash of a car.
Sure, relocating the phone charging station would be nice. Suggest maybe relocating the cup holder back 2 inches and putting in a slot to hold your phone in front of it? Or inside a cubby like the C7? Handle for the passenger side would be good to and not that hard to implement. Maybe some more options for the dash layout. Not very imaginative and really sticks out considering the artistry of the rest of the car. Other than the temp and fan controlls, getting rid of the rest of the climate controlls and using the infotainment system for them would not be bad call. A lot of buttons and only a few of them are used regularly.
But, thank you. My biggest complaint is you did not make this car 10 years ago. I am grateful, however, you did not make it 10 years from now.
I presently own a 2016 C7 Corvette Stingray shark grey with light grey interior. It is a beautiful combination of colors. Every time I drive it, it is like the first time I got behind the wheel. Stopping distance from 60 to O is 90 feet vs the C8 97 feet. I recently drove my friend’s C8 in the rain and I can say without a doubt I have never driven a car in the rain that handled as good as the C8 Corvette Stingray. The GWOB needs to go away and the Chevy should incorporate the information screen to allow both driver and passenger viewing, especially when using the GPS. The inductive charger needs a better location. Chevy should also not isolate drivers from passengers. Front cameras, side vehicle alerts and rear cameras should be be part of a standard package for safety.
