Aeromotive Launches New Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra Performance Fuel Pump

Aftermarket  fuel systems supplier Aeromotive has unveiled a new drop-in high capacity fuel pump for the 2005  to 2018 model year Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, which is designed for high-performance street, off-road and racing applications when using the factory fuel tank.

Aeromotive says its new 3.5 GPM Brushless Spur Gear Fuel Pump can support a wide variety of pickup performance builds. This includes naturally aspirated, gasoline-powered trucks producing up to 2,400 horsepower, as well as naturally-aspirated E-85 ethanol applications producing up to 1,680 horsepower, forced induction gasoline applications producing 1,800 horsepower or E-85 ethanol applications producing up to 1,260 horsepower.

The company’s 5.0 GPM Brushless Spur Gear Fuel Pump supports even higher flow and can be used on naturally-aspirated gasoline applications up to 3,400 horsepower, naturally-aspirated E-85 ethanol applications up to 2,380 horsepower, forced-induction gasoline applications up to 2,600 horsepower and forced-induction E-85 ethanol applications up to 1,820 horsepower.

This fuel pump could be used in both on or off-road racing applications.

Rather obviously, the 3.5 GPM pump is good for a flow rate of 3.5 gallons per minute, while the 5.0 GPM pump is rated at five gallons per minute. Both pumps come with built-in 100-micron inlet filters, ORB-10 port plug outlets and ORB-08 port plug return and vent line sizes. Aeromotive says both pumps also come with a “True Variable Speed Controller,” that helps extend the life of the pump and “maximizes efficiency by decreasing fuel pump speed during low-demand periods.” This is done by reducing the pump’s current draw and cycle rate, resulting in cooler fuel temperatures.

Both the 3.5 and 5.0 GPM Direct Drop-In Phantom Brushless Spur Gear Fuel Pumps are backed by Aeromotive’s one-year limited warranty. The pumps are available for purchase via Aeromotive’s web shop.
