2023 Chevy Trailblazer Gets New Nitro Yellow Metallic Color: First Look

The 2023 Chevy Trailblazer adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Fountain Blue, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Nitro Yellow Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Nitro Yellow hue.

Assigned RPO code GHS and touch-up paint code WA-660G, Nitro Yellow Metallic is one of 10 exterior colors offered on the subcompact crossover, which include:

  • Blue Glow Metallic
  • Crimson Metallic
  • Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
  • Mahogany Red Metallic
  • Mosaic Black Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Vivid Orange Metallic
  • Fountain Blue (new for 2023)
  • Nitro Yellow Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)

The Nitro Yellow Metallic color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $395 to the crossover’s price. This color is available on RS and Activ trim levels, but not on LS or LT. It is matched to a Summit White roof on Activ, and a Mosaic Black Metallic roof on RS. It can only be combined with the following interior colorways:

  • Jet Black/Almond Butter on Activ
  • Jet Black with Arizona accents on Activ
  • Jet Black with Red accents on RS

For reference, here are all five available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Trailblazer:

  • Jet Black/Medium Ash Gray
  • Jet Black
  • Jet Black/Almond Butter
  • Jet Black with Arizona accents
  • Jet Black with Red accents

The 2023 Chevy Trailblazer received only minor changes, representing the reborn crossover’s third year on the market. The Trailblazer will continue with the same two engine options – the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, which is rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, along with the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine, rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.

The Trailblazer crossover rides on the GM VSS-F platform, with production of North American-spec models taking place at the GM Bupeyong plant in South Korea. GM is set to expand production of the Chevy Trailblazer at this facility for the 2023 model year, adding some 6,000 units to the production schedule.

  2. I like the Trailblazer, but in that yellow with a white roof, it looks like a urine sample on wheels.

    1. Funny how GM is damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

For years, people have been clamoring for MORE EXCITING COLORS. So they get an exciting yellow, and people call it ugly.

Here’s a thought: if you don’t like it, don’t buy it in that color. It’s that simple.

  4. Nitro Yellow Metallic reminds me of the morning after a serious night out drinking when I was a kid… And what is with the different color roof? Is Chevy trying to appeal to the teenager who has not got his or her driver’s license yet? Or could Chevy be trying to save money by painting roof panels white or black, the only two colors that do not have an increased $495 cost to order???
