2023 Chevy Silverado Gets Extended Availability Of Assist Step And Tonneau And Value Package III

The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will introduce a few small changes from the preceding model year, including the addition of three new exterior colors and the introduction of a new LZ0 iteration of the Duramax engine. While slightly less exciting than those two changes, GM Authority has now learned the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will also have expanded availability for one of its LPO-level/dealer-installed equipment packages.
The Assist Step and Tonneau Value Package III will be available on more 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 trim levels than it was before. While this package was previously only offered on the LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, ZR2 and LTZ, it will now also be offered on the Custom and Custom Trail Boss. It will still not be available to order on either the entry-level WT or range-topping High Country trim levels.
On the Custom and RST trim levels, the Assist Step and Tonneau Value Package III package includes the following equipment (relevant RPOcodes listed in parentheses):
- Black six-inch rectangular assist steps (RPO RVQ)
- Hard-folding tonneau cover by REV (RPO VOZ)
On the Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss and ZR2, the package includes:
- Off-Road High Clearance Steps (RPO VXW)
- Hard-folding tonneau cover by REV (RPO VOZ)
On the LT and LTZ, the package includes:
- Chrome six-inch rectangular assist steps (RPO VXH)
- Hard-folding tonneau cover by REV (RPO VOZ)
Pricing for this package will be set at $1,895 for the LT, RST and LTZ. Pricing is currently not available for the Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss and ZR2.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will commence on August 29th, 2022, which applies to Regular Cab and Crew Cab models only. Production of Double Cab models, meanwhile, will begin a week later on September 6th. The Chevy Silverado is produced at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, GM Silao plant in Mexico and the GM Oshawa plant in Ontario.
