The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq ushers in a brand-new all-electric era for the luxury marque, arriving with all the traditional Caddy opulence, plus a cutting-edge all-electric powertrain to boot. Now, we’re taking a look at the new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq in Satin Steel Metallic paint thanks to the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
GM Authority photographers captured this Cadillac Lyriq prototype out and about in Satin Steel Metallic paint, fully dressed in production guise with all the components expected of a unit headed to the dealership. This stands in contrast to previous Cadillac Lyriq spy photos that showed the crossover with mismatched or missing components. The only non-production alteration seen on this prototype is some tape around the charge port, which is located just behind the driver’s-side front wheel on the fender.
To note, Satin Steel Metallic is one of four exterior colors offered for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, the other three being Opulent Blue Metallic, Crystal White Tricoat, and Stellar Black Metallic, as GM Authority covered previously.
Up front, we spot Cadillac Lyriq’s large, blocked-off front fascia, stylized with silver lining and polished trim bits. Horizontal and vertical lighting shines the way forward, while a monochromatic central badge is placed high and center.
The profile view reveals that this 2023 Cadillac Lyriq prototype is running a set of optional 22-inch wheels. The Lyriq is equipped as standard with 20-inch wheels, with the 22-inchers offered as optional. The larger wheels are tagged with RPO code PJA, and are officially titled Dynamic Split Spoke Reverse Rim alloy wheels.
Finally, in the rear we see the Cadillac Lyriq’s horizontal styling cues and rounded hatch section, complete with both horizontal and vertical lighting that complements the design up front.
As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq features GM’s Ultium battery technology and GM’s Ultium drive motor technology, with output ranging between 340 horsepower and 500 horsepower. Range-per-charge is above the 300-mile mark. Under the skin is the GM BEV3 platform, with production taking place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
