After announcing the new Silverado ZR2 undergoing testing in the Middle East earlier this month, GM has just officially launched the full 2022 Chevy Silverado lineup in the countries that make up the Middle East region of Southwest Asia.
The automaker says that the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado is now available throughout the Middle East, with a lineup highlighted by the all-new Chevy Silverado ZR2, the brand’s flagship off-road pickup. The launch comes a bit earlier than planned and includes the ZR2 version, which was initially scheduled for the end of the year.
“The Silverado has earned its reputation as a durable, versatile, and powerful truck in the Middle East. With the new 2022 line-up and the launch of the ZR2, we are proud to offer a truck that will exceed adventure-lovers expectations,” said CMO of GM Africa & Middle East, Sharon Nishi. “The 2022 lineup offers a more refined design and new technology options from the LT to the High Country and the all-new ZR2. We can’t wait to see these new trucks on roads across the region,” she added.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado lineup in the Middle East includes the LT, RST, Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country and ZR2 trim levels. In addition to the new front-end styling, the 2022 Silverado includes an all-new interior featuring a generous 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen that comes standard across the board in the region.
The most important addition to the new Silverado family is the off-road-specific ZR2 variant, powered by the 6.2L V8 L87 engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, shared with the High Country and the LTZ. The three more affordable trims are equipped with the 5.3L V8 L84 engine that develops 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado is available now throughout the Bow Tie brand’s dealership network in the Middle East and online through Shop. Click. Drive. Although GM did not reveal specific details or photos, the 2022 Silverado lineup is expected to remain offered in Regular Cab and Crew Cab body styles. Each country’s specific configuration and prices can be found on the Chevrolet Arabia website.
