In April, GM Authority reported that General Motors would reintroduce the Chevy Equinox in South Korea after a two-year hiatus. Now, the automaker officially announced the arrival of the 2022 Chevy Equinox in the Asian country.
The refreshed 2022 Chevy Equinox will arrive in South Korea in June as part of GM’s global campaign touting the third-generation crossover’s mid-cycle refresh. The introduction of the updated model will mark the nameplate’s return to Chevrolet dealers in the Asian country.
GM Korea announced the refreshed 2022 Chevy Equinox would be offered to South Korean customers with “a new face and a new heart,” referring to the restyled front end and updated powertrain used by the Equinox in international markets. The units built for Korea have a North American configuration and are manufactured at the GM plant in San Luis PotosÃ, Mexico.
The 2022 Chevy Equinox will seek to attract more customers from South Korea with the new RS trim that gives it a bolder, sportier appearance. Although the final trim level lineup has not yet been announced, official photos suggest that the 2022 Equinox RS will be accompanied by a Dark Knight variant similar to the Chevy Tahoe recently introduced in the local market.
The refreshed 2022 Chevy Equinox for the South Korean market will be equipped by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX engine that delivers 172 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, which promises both performance and fuel economy. This engine will be matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 Chevy Equinox will go on sale in South Korea in June, when final details and pricing will be announced. GM mentioned that this launch is part of its expansion strategy that plans to offer a utility vehicle in each of the fastest growing categories in South Korea and worldwide.

Low seller,no many Koreans are going to buy a Mexican Chevy.
Daily, I read on this site about GM taking care of everyone but it’s loyal U.S. customers. I love my 2019 Equinox but I’m ready for a new one. Right now, that’s almost impossible to do.
I’m 75 years old and have bought over 100 GM vehicles over the years.
I believe it’s time to look elsewhere.
No ACC on new cars in 2022. Ventilated seats are only on the top trim. It seems that GM Korea doesn’t like to sell cars.
