The show organizers for the annual Overland Expo have put together a custom 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X that they say represents their vision of the ultimate overland vehicle.
This custom 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X features a variety of aftermarket parts from twelve different vendors that were present at this past weekend’s Overland Expo West and was built by MULE Expedition Outfitters in Oregon. Show organizers say they chose the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X as the basis for their ultimate overlander thanks to its “potent 6.2.-liter V8, techie and luxurious cabin, and capable four-wheel drive system that features front and rear electronically locking differentials.” They also love its standard Multimatic DSSV dampers, as these unique shocks help improve ride quality both on and off-road.
Some of the aftermarket parts applied to this unique 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X include a 6.4-foot tray bed and three-foot bed canopy from MITS Alloy North America, 17-inch ICON alloy wheels wrapped in Firestone Destination M/T2 tired, front Firestone Ride-Rite air shocks, a Magnaflow exhaust, Rigid Adapt XP pod lights and a Rhino Rack roof rack. A roof-mounted solar panel and a pair of lithium batteries power the onboard Dometic camp fridge, which is joined by a Great Goat Outdoors camp kitchen, a 23 Zero tent and a Geyser Systems shower and heater. It also has an onboard air compressor for inflating and deflating the tires, a ZOLEO satellite communicator and a Drive Reach OTR cell signal booster.
This truck was on display at the 2022 Overland Expo West this past weekend, but will also be shown at the upcoming Pacific Northwest show in Redmond, Oregon, as well as the Mountain West show in Loveland, Colorado, and East show in Arrington, Virginia. At the end of the show season, the Ultimate Overland Vehicle will be auctioned off on popular online car sales site Bring a Trailer, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Overland Expo Foundation.
Overland Expo Pacific Northwest will kick off on July 8th at the Deschutes County Expo Center in Redmond, Oregon,
