Here’s When 2023 Chevy Equinox Production Will Start

Production of the 2023 Chevy Equinox will commence this August, GM Authority has learned.
GM dealers will no longer be able to place new sold orders for the 2022 model year Chevy Equinox as of June 23rd. Meanwhile, the final week of production for the 2022 Equinox will begin on August 19th.
The first week that dealers will be able to place new sold orders for the 2023 model year Chevy Equinox will be July 14th with the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2023MY set to commence on August 22nd.
Production of the Chevy Equinox takes place at the GM San Luis Potosí plant and the GM Ramos Arizpe plant, both located in Mexico. It was previously produced at the GM CAMI plant in Ontario, as well, however GM halted production of the nameplate there in April, with CAMI set to begin production of the BrightDrop Zevo 400 and Zevo 600 delivery vans later this year.
The new 2024 Chevy Equinox EV is set to go on sale next year, although it’s likely the regular Equinox and Equinox EV will be sold alongside each other for the time being. The Equinox EV is expected to be produced at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico, becoming the automaker’s fifth electric vehicle manufacturing hub in North America after the GM Lake Orion and GM Factory Zero plants in Michigan, the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee and the GM CAMI plant in Canada.
GM has not released details on the changes and updates that will be applied to the Chevy Equinox for the 2023 model year. For 2022, the compact crossover received a mid-cycle enhancement, which was delayed from the 2021 model year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including revised exterior and interior styling and a long list of trim level and feature adjustments. The crossover also received a new Redline Edition for 2022, which includes Redline decals, painted Black 19-inch wheels with Red accents, Black window surround trim and Black Equinox badges with a Red outline, among other equipment.
Power in the 2022 Equinox comes from a turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, along long with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, with all-wheel drive available as an optional extra.
