The Chevy Silverado 1500 was the most-shopped-for vehicle nameplate in the first financial quarter of this year, according to market research firm Kelley Blue Book.
KBB and sister company Cox Automotive recently published the results of their annual Brand Watch Study – a survey that quizzes both mobile and desktop users on their perception of certain automotive brands and which makes and models they’ve seriously considered buying in recent months.
The survey results indicate the Chevy Silverado 1500 is the most shopped-for model on sale today, beating out the Ford F-150 in second and Honda Accord in third.
The Chevy Silverado 1500 was also the most shopped-for pickup truck, with 35 percent of potential truck buyers strongly considering this nameplate – up from 29 percent in 2021. The Ford F-150 was the second most shopped-for model in the pickup truck segment, followed by the Ford F-Series Super Duty in third, the Chevy Silverado HD in fourth and the Toyota Tacoma in fifth.
KBB editors said the debut of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV helped elevate the Silverado’s perception among consumers. The Silverado EV is expected to arrive in late 2023 as a 2024 model year product and will be sold to both retail and fleet customers.
“The announcement of the electric Silverado, confirmed in Q1 and arriving in a year or so, generated additional activity,” the publication concluded. “Shopping for the larger versions of the Silverado rose even more, up 64 percent.”
This survey also quizzed participants on the most important factors when shopping for a new vehicle. Durability/reliability led the way, with 83 percent of respondents saying this is the most important metric when vehicle shopping. Safety was second, followed by driving comfort, driving performance and affordability.
GM recently introduced the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, which introduces revised exterior styling to the truck, along with a completely overhauled cabin with more up-to-date technologies and a larger available 13.4-inch digital display screen. This model also saw the introduction of the Chevy Silverado ZR2 off-road model variant.

Will GM produce another 1500 single cab, short bed truck? They are easier to for the older drivers
to drive and park. They also fit in the smaller garages.
They are available now!
IMHO it is the best looking PU on the road these days… I guess thats why my LT Trail Boss order was just accepted after placing in in January.
Wow I ordered A LTZ last month it only took 1wk for GM to accept my order production is set for wk of 5/23
Yup, the refreshed 22 Silverado High Country is a fantastic looking truck inside and out!
They exist? Based on how long ago I ordered mine, I’m starting to think they are in the realm of unicorns and the loch ness monster…
Just like that these price hikes became permanent because people refuse to stop buying in this inflated market. If you dont absolutely need a new vehicle you shouldn’t be buying right now.
Yeah, because it was our intense interest in electric vehicles that drove our interest in the Silverado…
Sell that woke crap to the people who’ll buy it.
I ordered LT crew cab standard box Jan 1st still no build date. WHY
