GM has issued a product safety recall for the Chevy Equinox, Blazer and Malibu, as well as the Cadillac XT4, over an issue related to the structural integrity of the driver’s seat framing.
The problem: in affected vehicles, the seat cushion frames may have an improper weld in the power tilt adjustment mechanism that could compromise the structural integrity of the seat frame.
The hazards: these improper welds may prevent occupant loads from being properly managed in certain crashes. This can increase the risk of injury for some occupants seated in the affected driver’s seats.
The fix: GM technicians will be instructed to replace the driver’s seat cushion frames as necessary. These repairs will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner. Dealers cannot sell vehicles affected by this product safety recall until the repairs contained in the associated repair bulletin have been carried out.
Affected vehicles:
Number of affected vehicles: only 245 vehicles are estimated to need repair parts under this product safety recall campaign. It’s unclear how many vehicles will need to be inspected.
Owners should: GM will likely notify owners of affected vehicles and instruct them to make an appointment with their dealer. If owners are unsure whether or not their vehicle is affected by this recall, they can visit my.gm.com/

Ejector seat? I did not know that was an option.
I always say buy American I always buy Chevy but I just purchased a car a month ago and it’s already lost its Turbo now it’s in the shop and they haven’t even looked at it since i brought it in on Monday. Next car will be a ford.
Just luck of the draw Tamara–happens with all manufacturers
I was looking at a 2022 Ford Explorer ST, that’s the 3.0 liter twin-turbo model / 400 hp. what stopped me from buying it was the recalls and poor quality reports… My wife looked at a GMC Terrain, with the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder. I told her I wanted at the very least a decent-sized v6. We bought a 2022 GMC Acadia Denali AWD with the 3.6 V6 engine. We are very happy with it, It has the pro trailering package on it and it is no slouch! 310 hp and 271 torque. If you go with the 4 cylinder you are looking at 193 hp… much slower.
I just do not like the idea of overworking the hell out of a very small motor with turbos on a constant basis… Yes, they turn out great performance, but for how long?
Never buy turbo they always end up with problems no matter what brand
If dealerships are not allowed to sell defective products until they are fixed then why did Lander’s Mclarty Chevrolet sell a bad Equinox to me and they knew it?
