Chevrolet Performance Extends Deal With Goodguys For Builder Of The Year Awards

Chevrolet Performance has extended its sponsorship of the Goodguys Builder of the Year awards.

Goodguys is the organizer of a wide variety of custom car and hot rod shows across America. Each year, it presents two lucky attendees of its show with the GM Iron Builder of the Year and the Retro Iron Builder of the Year awards, both of which are presented by Chevrolet Performance. Thanks to this latest sponsorship renewal, Chevrolet Performance will continue to serve as the presenting sponsor of these awards through to 2024.

The Chevrolet Performance Retro Iron Builder of the Year title is given to an “exceptional non-GM bodied build powered by a GM engine,” Goodguys says. The Chevrolet Performance GM Iron Builder of the Year award, meanwhile, is given to an outstanding GM-bodied build with a GM drivetrain. Finalists for these awards will be chosen at each Goodguys show before selecting overall winners at the end of the auto show season. The award-winning vehicles will also be displayed at the Goodguys season finale event, the Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale, Arizona, and featured in Goodguys’ print and digital media outlets.

This year’s winners of the Chevrolet Performance Retro Iron Builder of the Year winner will take home a Connect & Cruise powertrain system with a supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8, while the Iron Builder of the Year winner will win a 350 cubic inch ZZ6 Small Block Connect & Cruise powertrain system. GM will also sponsor the Goodguys Chevrolet Performance Builder’s Choice special parking area on Saturday at each Goodguys event this year, where some of the best builds in the country will register to go after receiving Goodguys awards.

“Following a successful inaugural year in 2021, Chevrolet Performance sees great value in continuing their support of Goodguys and professional builders by extending the Chevrolet Performance Builder of the Year awards through 2024,” said Goodguys VP of sales Jason Snyder. “Recognizing these professionals for their design, engineering and craftsmanship is well deserved.”

The next Goodguys event will be the 16th BASF Nashville Nationals presented by BluePrint Engines, which will be held at Nashville Superspeedway between May 13th and 15th.
