With a standard 6.2L LT2 V8 producing 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, the C8 Corvette Stingray comes from the factory with an attention-grabbing, head-turning exhaust note. But no matter how good a car sounds from the factory, or how loud it may be, there will always be owners who want a bit more sound and definition.
Luckily for the Corvette community, there’s no shortage of aftermarket exhausts on the market for the mid-engine C8. One of the more impressive aftermarket exhausts for the sports car, in our opinion, is the Akrapovič slip-on titanium exhaust. This kit is a significant 33.7 pounds lighter than the factory exhaust and boosts the output of the 6.2L LT2 V8 by 4.5 horsepower and 6.1 pound-feet of torque when compared with a factory C8 Corvette Stingray exhaust on the dyno. The Akrapovič square exhaust tips also have a unique, high-end look that pairs well with the factory exterior styling of the C8 Corvette Stingray.
A YouTuber by the name of CarSpotterJeroen recently captured a video of a C8 Corvette Stingray at a car show in Luxembourg equipped with this seldom-seen Akrapovič exhaust system for the mid-engine sports car. The exhaust system has a very aggressive note with more definition, especially at idle. Despite this, it manages to retain a certain degree of refinement, upping the volume of the exhaust without making it sound like it’s just been straight piped. This particular car is also finished in the popular Rapid Blue exterior color and is equipped with the Z51 Performance Package.
Check out the video embedded below to hear how the C8 Corvette Stingray sounds with this unique Slovenian-made exhaust system installed on it.

At over $8K and only 4.5 HP gain? No thanks. Factory exhaust is just fine with me.
What a terrible video for an exhaust sound. Not one rev! Boring…
SOUNDS BAD!!!! LOOKS HORRIBLE.
I saw 2 C8 s last weekend , never heard them. I know when I get mine , I did order performance exhaust , I better hear it or new mufflers for sure.
The exhaust actually changes tone depending on which mode it is in with track mode sounding the most aggressive and the touring mode being the most tame. In MY Mode you can adjust several aspects a nd enjoy the comfortable ride of touring while having the aggressive sound of track mode. The shift points hold the gears longer in track mode which really adds to the sound with higher rpm limits. This car is just awesome!
Thanks for the information. I can’t wait to get my C8. I have been waiting a long time.
