GM Authority spy photographers have already captured real-world photos of the 2023 Corvette Z06 finished in the Elkhart Lake Blue exterior color, as well as in Silver Flare Metallic with the optional Stinger Stripe package. Now they’ve caught the upcoming supercar in a color that will likely be a bit more popular than those two, however: Black.
This 2023 Corvette Z06 Coupe is finished in the gloss Black exterior color and features matching Satin Graphite Z06 Spider wheels (RPO code SOD) to achieve a mean-looking black-on-black theme. This car also features yellow-painted brake calipers and a Jet Black interior.
In addition to Black, the 2023 Corvette Z06 will also be available to order in 13 other exterior paint colors from launch:
- Accelerate Yellow
- Amplify Orange Tint
- Arctic White
- Caffeine Metallic
- Carbon Flash Metallic
- Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic
- Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic
- Hypersonic Gray
- Rapid Blue
- Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat
- Silver Flare Metallic
- Torch Red
- White Pearl Metallic Tricoat
Readers probably noticed this car is not equipped with the optional Z07 Performance Package. It’s easy to spot a 2023 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 Package, as this equipment group includes a full carbon fiber aero package with a different front splitter, front-corner dive planes, a much larger rear wing and underbody strakes. These models also receive larger carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires and FE7 suspension with specially tuned Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 dampers. Only models already equipped with the Z07 Package can be ordered with the ultra-light five-spoke carbon fiber wheel, as well, which are available in a Painted finish (RPO ROY) or an Exposed Carbon Fiber finish (RPO ROZ).
The 2023 Corvette Z06 will be available in both Coupe and Convertible body styles. Power will come from Chevy’s new race-bred, naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 engine, which produces 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, with power sent to the rear wheels via an upgraded Tremec eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Production of the 2023 Corvette Stingray is expected to begin at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky on May 16th, with the Z06 set to enter production sometime thereafter. Pricing for the 2023 Corvette Z06 has yet to be announced by GM.

These pictures feature a LEFTHAND drive and OUTBOARD exhaust??? Z06 with outboard exhaust I thought was the European version. If just seeing the one picture, I would guess this was a Stingray US version. The license tag is not clear enough to tell.
The plate says pure Michigan
It’s a wide body, so not a Stingray.
Any C8 Z06 no matter the drive hand for export markets have outboard exhaust.
Is the car shown a Euro-spec Z06 or really an E-Ray? Regular Z06s have a center mount exhaust, not the 2, dual pipes shown.
I’m pretty sure those are the black (SOA) wheels, not satin graphite (SOD)…
Also the statement “Pricing for the 2023 Corvette Z06 has yet to be announced by GM.“ might be becoming the most common phrase ever used on GMA. Many people are getting frustrated with the delay…I am trying to embrace it in the hopes that the delay is because GM is working out a buyer’s contract to prevent flippers from selling it during the 1st year…this is my (though likely unrealistic) hope that will provide access to the true enthusiasts on the wait lists.
I think the Z06 looks especially good in black, but I would never want another black car because it’s just too hard to take care of. There’s a bunch of nice Z06 colors already, but I would love to see a non-metallic, medium-to-dark gray become available.
Enough GM, give a price and an ordering date, this is getting ridiculous.
Or prototype Z06 before the exhaust redesign.
You can get this and you can get that. What you can’t get is a price, order date or production date.
If that is right hand drive then it looks like nobody is driving it. I could be wrong. I guess it could be an ERay but probably an early test car. The plate has to say Michigan, it owned by GM and they are out of MI. None have been built, other than preproduction, let alone sold. Not here or any where else. Could be the gloss black wheels that are dirty.
I thought it was so cool that I get my dealers first ZO6 for MSRP, but really getting flustered with all the BS, ready to give up.
Rick, It’s Z-zero-6 (Z06) not Z-oh-6 (ZO6), you printed the latter. You don’t deserve a Z06 🙁
It’s too bad the design of the C8 is so ugly, it’s such an awesome car otherwise.
Sorry Duke. Don’t you have anything better to do than check if someone hit the O instead of the 0. What kind of ass hole are you. Since you think I don’t deserve one I will tell the dealer I don’t want it because Douche Bitterman thinks I shouldn’t get it. I’m sure they will agree.
