Black-Painted GMC Hummer EV Pickup Spotted Testing

Every 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 that leaves the production line at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan this year will be identically equipped, featuring an Interstellar White exterior and a Lunar Horizon white leather interior with bronzed Edition 1 badging. The Hummer EV will offer a wider variety of exterior colors for the 2023 model year, however, including gloss black.
GM Authority spy photographers recently snapped these photos of GM testing a black-painted Hummer EV Pickup prototype on a rocky off-road trail. Seeing as the Hummer EV Edition 1 was only offered in Interstellar White, it seems likely that this prototype is for the series production EV3X or EV2X trim levels. In addition to the black exterior paint, this prototype also features black-painted machine face wheels, brush silver tow hooks and exterior accents and off-road rock rails. This sighting is a likely sign that the EV3X and EV2X trim levels are entering their final stages of development.
The Hummer EV3X is expected to enter production this fall and will feature a tri-motor powertrain producing up to 830 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of wheel torque. The EV2X will arrive shortly after in the spring of 2023, while the entry-level EV2 will go on sale in early 2024. Both the EV2 and EV2X will have a two-motor powertrain producing 625 horsepower and 7,400 pound-feet of wheel torque, although the EV2X will have around 300 miles of range, while the EV2‘s range will sit at around 250 miles.

GM Authority rendered the GMC Hummer EV Pickup in nine different exterior colors last year, including Sand Dune, Acid Green and Stinger Yellow. While those digital altered images provided us with a rough idea of how the GMC Hummer EV Pickup will look in different colors, this marks the first time we’ve spotted a prototype that wasn’t finished in white or a camouflage pattern. This is a somewhat rough development prototype, though, so it appears to feature a mismatched white-painted fascia applique to go along with its black body panels.
This prototype also appears to be equipped with the Extreme Off Road Package, which comes standard on the Edition 1 and adds 18-inch wheels, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, underbody skid plates, frame rail rock sliders and underbody cameras.
We’ll have full details on the available exterior colors for the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup as soon as they become available. For now, be sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more GMC Hummer news, GMC news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

If you have been paying attention to the HummerChat Forums, this Hummer has been spotted ages ago.
Those range and availability dates in chart are way out of date now.
I have seen the vehicle half a dozen times within my subdivision over that last couple months, but I live 7-8 miles from the Milford Proving Grounds.
Imagine that.🤣
An $80G+ boxy stump puller. It’s off to the drag races!
I’m just happy to see a HUMMER EV in a color other than bland, generic white.
To add on to that, I’m just happy to see them being built and delivered out to select Dealerships, I caught one in Atlanta this past weekend, sizewise; it truly looks like a monster in person.
