The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 arrives as the fifth model year for the fourth-generation light-duty pickup truck, following up on a full model refresh introduced for the 2022 model year. Among the list of updates introduced for 2022 was the new range-topping Sierra Denali Ultimate trim level, and now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate will soon be available to order.
During an interview with GM Authority, a GMC spokesperson confirmed that orders for the 2023 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate will open up this summer. As a reminder, reservations for the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate are now full, as GM Authority reported last month. Reservations for the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate were previously available through GMC.com, and required a $100 deposit.
With regard to specs and equipment, the new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate stands apart from the rest of the lineup with a host of high-end touches and upgrades, starting with a signature Vader Chrome grille treatment. The unique Vader Chrome is continued with the GMC badging front and rear, while in the corners, the new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate rides on exclusive 22-inch low-gloss black aluminum wheels with machined accents.
Inside, the GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate is draped in the new Alpine Umber interior colorway, with full-grain leather seating as standard. The leather is complemented by authentic open-pore Paldao wood trim, plus heated and ventilated 16-way power front seats with a massage function. Infotainment and tech specs are on point thanks to a 12-speaker Bose Premium Series stereo with Centerpoint surround sound and GM’s hands-free, semi-autonomous Super Cruise driving assistant.
As for what’s under the hood, the GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate is motivated by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, which is rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Denali Premium Suspension with Adaptive Ride Control is also standard. The 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, is optional.
Under the skin is the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Silao plant in Mexico and GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana.

Will this 2023 have the pano roof that it deserves …?
I’ve been waiting since January 2021for a 2021 1500 Sierra Denali for a long time. Started with giving 2000.00 down and then they had to refund my money because there’s no vin number to go with the money. then they added the word limited and it became a 2022. I liked the redesign 2022 Sierra Denali, went to different dealership and put 100 dollars down or for reservation and now they tell me I have to get a 2023 Sierra Denali and they told me ultimate Denali is unavailable . How much longer do I have to wait?
I have had a denali Ultimate on order since early March . No word as to when it will be available to order.
