So far we’ve spotted 2023 Corvette Z06 prototypes in a variety of exterior colors, including Black, Arctic White, Elkhart Lake Blue and Silver Flare Metallic. Now our sharp-eyed spies have caught the upcoming mid-engine supercar in what will arguably be its most attention-grabbing available exterior color: Accelerate Yellow.
This test vehicle is a 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible finished in Accelerate Yellow and with the optional Black-painted contrasting roof, black ‘Spider’ wheel design and yellow-painted brake calipers. This particular car is not equipped with the available Z07 Performance Package, as it does not have the available aerodynamic package equipped, however it does have the optional Brembo carbon ceramic brake system. For those readers who may be unaware, the carbon ceramic brake system will be available to order as a standalone option on the 2023 Corvette Z06, although it’s also included in the Z07 Performance Package.
In addition to Accelerate Yellow, the 2023 Corvette Z06 will also be available to order in 13 other exterior paint colors from launch. This will include the following:
- Black
- Amplify Orange Tint
- Arctic White
- Caffeine Metallic
- Carbon Flash Metallic
- Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic
- Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic
- Hypersonic Gray
- Rapid Blue
- Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat
- Silver Flare Metallic
- Torch Red
- White Pearl Metallic Tricoat
The 2023 Corvette Z06 will be available in both Coupe and Convertible body styles. Power will come from Chevy’s new race-bred, naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 engine, which produces 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, with power sent to the rear wheels via an upgraded Tremec eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Production of the 2023 Corvette Stingray is expected to begin at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky on May 16th, with the Z06 set to enter production shortly thereafter. Pricing for the 2023 Corvette Z06 has yet to be announced by GM.

I have a suspicion that certain people of a certain wealth are being allowed to own these. So few cars, so many common folk
wanting one. Just like the premier Ferrari models, each person is selected. Ford GT, limited to select people.
I thought they said at the unveiling of the ZO6 that it will not be a limited production car. Anyone who wants one should be able to get one. Just a matter of time. I think they said there planing on 1,500 a year “IF” all goes well. We all know that is a big if.
I was planning on a Z07 but thinking maybe a ZO6 with the aero package and ceramic brakes because I’m not crazy about the Cup 2 R tires. Has anybody heard if you can get the CF wheels with the stock ZO6 tires. Sorry that I just kind of side tracked this post but thought somebody might know. Thank you
It’s not going to be any where near 1,500 unless they start mass production and not just prototypes.
Not as good as the past yellows!
“Production expected to begin for the Stingray on May 16”. This article dated May 22. So, Sam, did production began on May 16 or not??
I read, Tuesday the 24th of May, for the start of 2023 s. I hope!
I am still waiting to hear the first 2023 Stingray rolled off the line, let alone a Z06? Did 2023 production actually start yet?
Over the past couple of weeks have you noticed the increase in frequency that Gm Authority is posting pictures of the ZO6?
We all like seeing pictures, however, we are anxiously waiting for pricing and the go-ahead to order. GM can you give us a firm date on when pricing will be available on the Z06? If you can’t provide us with pricing because of inflation, supply chain issues, etc. I completely understand, but a further explanation to your customers of the delay would be greatly appreciated.
Z06 is not much of a name for this car. They should name it the X-ray.
How about Figment.
I’m tired of waiting for GM/Bowling Green/The Dealers to figure out what their Lottery/Selection/Allocation/Pricing/etc is gonna be for the Z06.
This has turned into a cluster-F&*k. NO start date for production, NO clear allocation process, NO pricing, NO dealer info on “Who’s on First, or What’s on Second” as far as their “lottery. We, their primary market, is sitting here with absolutely no information on when, how much or how. All the rumors, news releases, pictures of European versions, videos, and on – and on – are a waste of money & time because “WE CAN’T EVEN PLACE AND ORDER OF A Z06.”
As Clara Peller once said: “WHERE’S THE BEEF”
I expected better from GM. While I’m sympathetic with their chip shortage, labor issues, etc, etc, etc – their handling of the Z06 roll out/intro of an AMERICAN sportscar with the most advanced internal combustion engine in THE WORLD, has been shameful. Harlen and Tadge need to get their priorities straight.
As more than a casual observer, and based upon the constant touting of the revered, much touted, overpriced, totally NON-STREETABLE Z07 I can only surmise those of those of us who are THE CORVETTE FAITHFUL, that simply want to order a street-able Z06 gotta go to the back of the line again and wait until the BIG BUCK BUYERS are satisfied.
You’ll get nothing and like it!

Ever tried to buy a Porsche GT car in the last 10 years? Virtually, the same experience. Get a grip. Too many buyers and easy, low-cost money fueling inflation for just about everything – including sports cars.
See, their marketing strategy is working perfectly-they have you sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation! How quickly we will forget once the pricing etc. is released. In todays day and age of undersupply and over demand, do you really think anybody cares? Welcome to the new economic world order.
