2023 Cadillac Escalade-V To Start At $180K In Canada

With head-turning exterior styling, an opulently-appointed cabin and a supercharged V8 doling out more than 680 horsepower, there’s no denying the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V is an impressive product. It also has the kind of price tag to back up its appeal, though, with Cadillac Canada set to charge customers a significant C$179,998 including destination charges.

This price is of course in-line with what GM plans to charge American buyers for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V. The supercharged performance SUV will carry a starting price of $149,990 in the U.S. including destination, as we reported earlier this week.

As the extended-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade ESV costs C$3,500 more than the Escalade in Canada, we can assume the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V ESV will be priced from C$183,498 including destination north of the border.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V comes standard with a supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 engine doling out 682 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 653 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. Power is sent to a full-time active all-wheel drive system with variable torque splitting through the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. GM claims the full-size SUV will sprint from zero to 60 mph in as little as 4.4 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 12.74 seconds at 110 mph.

This SUV is more than just a powerful forced induction V8, of course. It also comes standard with GM’s Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 dampers and Air Ride Adaptive suspension, along with a customizable V-Mode that allows the user to adjust suspension and exhaust note settings. Bringing the package to a stop are set of six-piston Brembo front brakes with Edge Red calipers.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V will begin to arrive at Canadian dealerships this summer. Production of the full-size SUV takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas alongside the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL.

    1. And with gas at $2.20 a litre and rising, super practical too.

I personally see nothing about this vehicle that justifies that price tag.

  5. Prices are getting out of control. Almost $50,000.00 for a supercharged engine and some trim upgrades? I love Cadillacs and have owned 15 of them in my lifetime. I just can’t afford them anymore!

  11. I don’t know how Canadian auto retail price their vehicles and what’s the reason behind this but it sounds like they want to make this model very exclusive for the reason of the asking price near $200K.

People need to get use that Cadillac is going after the high-end clientele even further. Soon we will see high end EV flagships from Cadillac and the Escalade V is the beginning. You don’t have to like it but Cadillac is going upmarket even further and has been doing so since the V now with the Blackwing and soon with the CELESTIQ.

GM has anayyzed that their target customer for this vehicle have huge expendable cash flows. These buyers seek a prop to their egos and are most willing to pay the price for this prop. These include people both in the legal service professions and those in the illegal street trades which I have previously detailed.

Daimler also plays to this crowd. Motor vehicles are image makers and image builders. More so than expensive Italian clothing.
