General Motors unveiled the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V earlier this year, debuting a fresh high-performance variant of the popular luxury SUV nameplate. Now, The General is announcing a list of juicy details on the new Escalade-V, confirming that the go-fast utility will sport a whopping 682 horsepower and an entry-price of $149,990.
Let’s start with the performance, kicking it off with what’s under the hood. Making this thing move is the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, which produces 682 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 653 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. The V8 mates to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, which was specifically calibrated for the Escalade-V to take advantage of the “unique powerband characteristics” of the supercharged engine. Power reaches the ground through a full-time active all-wheel drive system with variable torque splitting, as well as an electronic limited-slip differential.

As for the pricing, Cadillac has announced a $149,990 base MSRP, including DFC, for the standard-length body style. Given the Escalade ESV costs $3,000 more than the regular-length body style, we can figure a base price of $152,990 for the Escalade-V ESV.
Sales will begin late this summer.

Wow, lottery money for sure. Decent performance numbers also..
I wonder if a Tahoe ss is gonna follow
Yes it would be nice if Chevy or GMC shoehorns an LT 4 into one of their trucks
I like to see Premium Luxury Platinum get a detuned supercharged engine like the CT6 Platinum Blackwing at least around 600 horses.
Without a doubt, Cadillac will sell every single one of them at a cap.
The ct5 blackwing I think comes close. For an Escalade this is performance, but with currrent fuel prices and it requires premium wow almost 200 for a full tank.
They should make an xt6 black wing and put that 3.6 engine from the ct4 black wing in it. Make a good rival to the explorer st.
Should be carbon fibre, not wood. But other than that, everything looks amazing. And no, I’ll never be able to afford one.
@ jonnyd84
Or at least an option for Carbon trim instead.
Haha broke boy
The words in the ad make it seem like an underdog, but the price says otherwise. Just as I suspected GM makes you pay a $30-$40k premium over the top trim to slap on a supercharger. Meanwhile Dodge, Porsche, MB, BMW maybe add $10-$20k to the top trim lol
Remember the brakes, magride, steering, towing, etc. have to handle the 600 hp Escalade, also.. it’s a Cadillac..
Not to mention all wheel drive..That being said they should have offered this 10 years ago.
Ridiculous for you to include Dodge in your comparison.
The upgrades for the Escalade are more than a supercharger. Add brake upgrades, different awd system, performance oriented tires, unique exhaust. The MSRP being quoted is very realistic and they’ll have the demand for it.
Now using Porsche in your comparison is hysterical. They are the king of add ons. And you pay for every one. You’ll see a $100k price difference between base model and loaded high performance model.
BMW sells a I6 X7 starting at $75k. The V8 os $100k while the Alpina is $142k. Pricing very similar to what you’re getting in the Escalade.
You get much more with the escalade than the BMW. in pure Cadillac fashion, just more.
Cadillac is also known for options. You are correct, this cannot be compared to a dodge. Its a “Cadillac”, not a dodge. (no offence to mopar)
Agreed, though I don’t care if dodge is offended. Every one of their vehicles are tacky in design, garbage in quality.
Spot on.
It makes the Durango Hellcat seem like a bargain and the Tesla Model X Plaid not a bad deal if you really want to go fast.
It’s awesome Cadillac is actually building this, but it seems like they came up with a price to take advantage of a market thirsting to get the last of the big V8s. From what I’m seeing, dealers are practically auctioning CT5 Blackwings to the highest bidder — so that’s likely the reason behind the pricing.
laughable, the plaid doesn’t even have leather as an option. And the X looks like a cockroach.
Well look at it this way. AMG GLS63 stickers for $15K less, the Escalade starts at $85K.
This is one expensive sport package.
$40K for a supercharger is right.
That’s the problem with Tesla suvs. They look like sedans that grew tumors. And you’re sitting inside it.
I like to think of them as cockroaches myself. But yes the proportions are just whacky. I’m sure musk personally designed it.
Buy a supercharger from Eaton and retrofit it for 90% less. Although that would void the initial factory warranty.
Forget about the warranty. Until you get over $35K in repairs, you’re ahead of the game!
You’re forgetting it’s a Cadillac
It’s not the same engine as the regular Escalade it’s the LT 4 Yes the price is a little heavy The LT series engines have a stronger bottom end
ATPs are already 109-111K (standard length and extended) so 150K seems reasonable. This really shows just how powerful the Hummer is. Despite weighing some 4000 pounds more it accelerates to 60 almost 1.5 seconds faster than the Escalade-V. The up coming Escalade EV will surely be lighter than the Hummer and will probably hit 60 in < 3 seconds and get 50+ MPGe. It will interesting to see how GM prices the EV version,
Well this should make the Kardashians and others with way too much money happy.
The only problem is…it’s still built with the same GM sh1t tier quality! From the second row on it is still a Tahoe.
I expect them to sell but again, if you’re not going in a straight line, all that performance is hindered by nanny tech.
Lol, there’s always one..
You got that right I’m surprised to see you still lurking on here.
Thanks, cheerleader…let’s go Brandon!
Still dropping turds on here I see.
Yes, Just dropped a nice “Ha-Ha” , had an orange ring around it…..
You dropped a few on several other articles to, don’t forget that.
Guess that comment hit too close to the mark eh snowflake?
Yes! $150,000 for misaligned body panels and dirt in the paint job! GM quality has fallen to corporate love of quantity.
Stunning. But it’s weird get a better treatment in the second and third row in a crappy Jeep than in a Cadillac.
Sigurd: Don’t get me wrong. I love my Cadillac’s, but why do you say that about the Jeep? From the ones I’ve owned (too many to list), they have been great vehicles for me and the only ones I’ve ever had any problems with were the two diesel’s I had. Funny thing, the diesels were outsourced from MB (in the Grand Cherokee) and I believe VM Motori. My Liberty was actually really good, but at the time the US wasn’t using ultra low Sulphur fuel and so it kept killing my EGR valve. But the MB diesel in my GC was not very good.
Anyhow, the new Grand Cherokee is fantastic and the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer are nothing to scoff at.
Dan B,
I agree, the Wagoneers are awesome vehicles, with a real luxury interior. The second and third row even feels more premium and comfortable than the Escalade, from my short january driving. But after lots of electric and engine problems my wife had with her Grand Cherokee years ago (common problems I heard) I wouldn’t buy another FCA (Stellantis) vehicle.
My comment is more a critic to GM than Jeep. The passenger comfort of the Escalade lags behind competition for a U$100k SUV, what about a U$150k one?
If I win the lottery I’ll buy one.
So this gets supercharged yet the ZR2 and AT4X do not ? Makes sense.
I think those two should get supercharged with between 640 or 650 HP. Don’t want to overstep the Escalade but they should be left behind in comparison to the competition.
you can pick up a Dodge TRX for 78k, where is GMs response?
Makes me wonder if Gm is afraid to compete and lacks the desire to be the best. If ram can make 702 HP from their 6.2 why can’t GM do just as good or better from their 6.2?
Or maybe GM management doesn’t want to pay all the EPA fines that Stellantis is on the hook for because of their supercharged v8s
For this kind of money it would have been great to see Cadillac use their in-house 4.2 TT V8
But either way the Slade finally gets a V Series option.
Cadillac did it right, Cadillac should keep this thing limited, powerful, gangster, baller, etc. Shows the power of American muscle and they are nothing compared to the Germans. American power baby! Now the price is kinda ehh, for what this car is its most probably worth it.(Could be completely wrong, gotta drive to see).
But in general. Got daym this car is a leviathan from the bottom hell.

Fossil fuels are going no where until Solid state batteries are a proven way to power automobiles. This lets go green thing is joke. Just like the EPA saying farmers should use less fertilizer and more manure, well guess what manure is more of a problem than fertilizer for the enviroment and polution.. This cadillac will burn cleaner than any care 20 years ago and produce more power. Regarding the second row, i see a reason why the second row needs be as nice as the front. Kids or other family members just need a sitting area. The wagoneer does look nice on the inside but the outside profile is ugly.
For fans in Europe! It has 692 PS … 707 PS was my marketing wish, but unfortunately …

Absolutely love it! Not worth a $150K. I won’t pay that for it, but that being said, with all these stupid prices now a-days, and people still buying vehicles. Everyone of them will sell.
I am just sitting here grinning at all these “clowns” buying things, not thinking of the consequences. The recession will come and then they will be wondering “WHAT WILL I DO KNOW!!!! I was there in Las Vegas in 2008 when it hit, and this is eerie to what it was like back then.
Also, why do “key board warriors” ruin a sight! Grow up and if you don’t like a comment. Move on. Not everyone shares the same opinion. It’s ok, if everyone was the same, we would have a boring world! Grow up!!!

that is a lot of cheap rusty talentless steel for that price,
and it should get the LT5 engine.
The new Escalade-V is so “badass ridiculous(but awesome)” and “silly expensive”. Its makes ya smile just thinking about owning one. That’s if you hit all the lottery numbers for a “mega-windfall” but nonetheless. Its seriously cool to see GM via Cadillac or Chevy, finally produce another super-high performance vehicle again other than sedans and coupes..
Now lets see about getting that fairly potent LT4 engine in the newer Silverado or Sierra 1500.
There is an inverse relationship between horsepower and IQ. Buyers of this vehicle will be proof.
