2023 Cadillac CT5-V Loses These Three Paint Colors

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V will no longer be available with three paint colors that were offered for the 2022 model year, GM Authority has learned.

Cadillac CT5-V in Satin Steel Metallic

The following three exterior colors will not be available to order with the Cadillac CT5-V for the 2023 model year (relevant GM paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Satin Steel Metallic (paint code G9K)
  • Shadow Metallic (paint code GJI)
  • Infrared Tintcoat (paint code GSK)

Cadillac CT5-V in Shadow Metallic

Satin Steel Metallic and Shadow Metallic cost $625 to apply to the 2022 model year Cadillac CT5-V, while Infrared Tintcoat is a $1,225 premium paint option. These three paint colors will be replaced by three new extra-charge hues for the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V:

  • Midnight Steel Metallic (paint code GXU)
  • Argent Silver Metallic (paint code GXD)
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (paint code GNT)

These three colors will also be dropped from the regular Cadillac CT5 order books for 2023, as GM Authority reported previously, along with Diamond Sky Metallic and Garnet Metallic. The Diamond Sky Special Edition Package will also be dropped for the 2023 model year.

2021 Cadillac CT5-V Infrared Tintcoat

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V is available with a single engine option: the GM twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY powerplant, which produces a healthy 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. The GM 10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board. The sedan rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform and is produced alongside the standard Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing, the Cadillac CT5 and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedans as well as the Chevy Camaro sports coupe at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

GM halted production of the 2022 Cadillac CT5 and CT5-V in early April due to an undisclosed parts shortage, but production of the luxury sedan resumed shortly after.

GM Authority will have full details on the 2023 model-year Cadillac CT5 lineup as soon as it becomes available.

  1. Nothing like a red Cadillac with a white interior like years ago when a Cadillac was a luxury car and not a race car and not priced out of everybody’s budget!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

“… and not priced out of everybody’s budget!”

What a silly thing to say. Since when have Cadillacs NOT been priced above most peoples reach? They’re not supposed to be affordable.

  2. C’est quoi cette Cadillac ? elle ressemble à une Renault Laguna endimanchée !

  3. I have a CT5-V Blackwing on order, but didn’t get a ’22. Now since I chose Shadow metallic as my color I’ll have to select something else. Hopefully GM allows us to see examples of the new colors before I’m forced to change my selection. Also, several dealers have told me the Carbon Fiber packages are unavailable “indefinitely” so if you want one (I wanted Package #1) you either go without or risk not getting a ’23 either!
Another nasty little 2023 surprise, if you want the parking package, which includes the rear camera mirror, you MUST take Super Cruise. (Which I don’t want)
Jeez, these constraints and restrictions have been, and continue to be, a real pain in the ___.

  4. You can have it ANY color you want so long as it’s black.

    1. Be careful! They can lose that one too. After all, Cadillac is real expert on losing colors very frequently.

      1. Let’s hope they don’t start making the customers paint their cars—must save every penny for EVs.

  5. If GM killed these colors…

These probably aren’t the Class-Action Peeling Paints. It’s GM’s way of taunting buyers. You want paint? You get Peeling Paint.

And don’t ask for lifters to work, airbags to work, ignitions to work, wheels not to disintegrate.
