The fully refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 introduces a wealth of changes and updates for the light-duty pickup truck nameplate, including the debut of the brand-new, range-topping GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate trim level. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the new Sierra Denali Ultimate in White Frost Tricoat Paint with the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
White Frost Tricoat Paint is one of five exterior paint options available for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate, offered as an optional extra for an additional $1,095 and tagged with paint code G1W. The bright exterior paint provides a contrast for the darker detailing seen front to back, including the unique Vader Chrome grille treatment that dominates the front end. Further Vader Chrome bits are added for the front fender trim and and GMC logo. Also of note is the chrome finish for the recovery hooks in the lower bumper, tagged with RPO code VLQ.
Viewed from the profile, we find this 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate rolling on a set of 22-inch Midnight painted aluminum wheels with machining and bright Chrome Inserts. Tagged with RPO code SMR, these wheels add a nice complement to the dark trim and White Frost Tricoat Paint. Higher up in the body, we see further chrome for the sideview window surrounds, sideview mirror caps, Denali badge, and door handles.
Although it’s tricky to tell from afar, the rear of the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate includes the CarbonPro Carbon Fiber Composite Bed as standard. The rear GMC badge on the tailgate also has the same Vader Chrome finish as the badge up front.
Under the polish and gloss, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate offers the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine for the standard spec, although the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax is also offered as an optional upgrade. Providing the bones is the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Silao plant in Mexico and GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana.

I ordered the Ultimate in October. I have been calling the dealer to get an update on a delivery date. I was finally told the hold up is they can’t deliver the truck with the Super Cruise. No chips. My options were to cancel the order and wait until the 2023 models come out or take off the Super Cruise, which would reduce the price by $2500.00. If I chose that option, then all of the price increases that I have avoided because my price was locked in, would then apply. I told him the SC is a nice gimmick to have but not a necessity. Still couldn’t give me a delivery date.
I got my Denali Ultimate yesterday. I was able to get a reservation in the first two minutes they opened them up. I don’t understand why you’d have a reservation process if you can’t even meet the demand from those. While I did get SC, it’s crazy I don’t have front or rear parking sensors on a 83k truck.
That’s an additional 500
The painted fender flares being optional and not standard on the top tier luxury model is a mind boggling choice by the people at the General…
They need to make $700 more for the painted wheel Opening moldings I think the price of this truck is enough And we don’t need super cruise either just drive the truck
The only bad thing about the Ultimate is just one choice for the interior color!!
My beef with GM is the new Navigation system. No longer to you get an actual Nav system with an embedded map system that only cost you to buy the system as an option -once
the “new” system simply hands you over to google maps– who do all the mapping and directions. Most of us already have google maps,waze or some form of navigation in our phones .
The new GM system relies on you paying for the DATA the goofle system uses. I got 2.0gigs of free data for 2 months with my new purchase. I burned thru that 2.0Gig in less than 10 days. I had to buy more DATA from GM to make the system work. This will be an expensive option I am going to tape my 5 year old garmin to the fancy new screen
I agree totally Paul. I’m just surprised that “Dallas GMC” haven’t given you his “continuous marketing” lecture. It is past time GM just cut the BS about new/additional updated features/colors when they can’t even build the orders they already have.
Just have to double LOL at this thing. They can’t fill the current orders they have, charge extra for body color fender flares where cheap black plastic should not exist and only offer one interior color. What a grossly overpriced joke!
I was just contacted by my dealer that all reservations and preliminary orders are being cancelled because GM is not building the Sierra Denali Ultimate 2022’s. However I can order a Denali. I’ve been waiting 7 months and now they change the game. I am on hold with corporate now.
You’re right 22s have been built out that’s about the normal for this time of year 23’s Will start soon if you can I would wait till 24 models Come out by then hopefully they get these vendor issues ironed out and ship shortages that is if they’re not supplying chips to the electric vehicles
Problem is Jeff after 7 months no truck and if I wait there is no price protection. When we reserved the truck it was 80,395 with destination charges plus you had to order a color which added $495 which was a joke. How do you have any color as a chargeable option. If I wait for the 2023 there is no way they will price protect and already their build has gone up buy thousands. As a owner of GM vehicles for the last 45 years and currently have 2 GM’s I will never purchase another GM. They say buy American and I believed them. Maybe it’s time to buy a Toyota.
I know what you mean there is no price protection 22 is gone because of the vendor issue and all the rest of the BS certain paints that are tinted they do get more money for I’ve got The frost white which is a tri-coat process is it worth the money I don’t know it’s too bad you were a jerked Around by the dealer they should’ve just come out and say listen I can’t get his truck for you until next year
