Now, the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD has received another price increase, the fourth since the 2022 model year first went on sale in the summer of the 2021 calendar year.
The latest price increase for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD is a flat $1,000 for all trim levels and configurations, including both the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, and the 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500HD. The Destination Freight Charge also increased from $1,695 to $1,795. As it stands now, the least-expensive 2022 Chevy Silverado HD model is the Silverado 2500HD WT Regular Cab / Long Bed with 2WD and the 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, priced at $41,295, while the most-expensive model is the Silverado 3500HD High Country Crew Cab / Long Bed DRW with 4WD and the 6.6LV8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, priced at $81,345.

When the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD first went on sale last year, pricing started at $36,995. Now, with the least-expensive model priced at $41,295, pricing for the heavy-duty pickup has risen by $4,300 over the course of the 2022 model year.
As GM Authority covered earlier in the month, the refreshed Chevy Silverado HD is set to launch for the 2024 model year, rather than the 2023 model year, as was originally expected.
As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD is offered with two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T, which is rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, as well as the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, which is rated at 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Under the skin is a more-capable version of the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa Plant in Canada.

GM’s price increase is a function of government spending causing inflation, fuel prices causing raw resource cost to skyrocket and supply chain issues (which the prior administration fought by waving regulations for truckers, not increasing them in the middle of a pandemic) all that goes back to whomever is pulling the puppet strings of POTUS.

Yes, last night. Chevy is still the cheapest. It’s something to do with not using aircraft grade aluminum in the body or complicated rear axles. It’s hard to beat a SBC even in an HD application.
Course the real price increase is the lack of incentives. I won’t buy until those come back and I got into a fight last week with a Chevy salesman. I told them if they don’t come back then he’s out of a job. Also last night I did a comparison of half tons. A Nissan Titan SV with a 400HP V8 for 42K looks a lot better than a Chevy custom with a 310 HP turbo 4 for 48K. Now give me 12K off and I’ll probably choose the Chevy for reliability reasons. If Mary won’t do it, than I’ll just wait a year cause bankruptcy court will.

Cheapest, yet still best in class standard TQ, towing (ford still sells theirs with 2 axle ratios and spring rates, all for extra. Chevy it’s standard) ride quality and even standard features (yes compare a Chevy WT to a ram tradesman, ford XL) cheap doesn’t mean chintzy
Thats why Ford can outsell GM even tho GM has 8 brands , and I believe even Ram out sold GM one month or qtr last year. think about GM and there trucks and motors, there all decades old model’s and motor’s and rehashed crap . they keep putting more lip stick on there pigs.
When I was looking to buy a truck, I wanted a 2500HD. I live in California and nobody had any in stock for the Custom Gas 4X4 in either Crew Cab or Single Cab. If I wanted to reserve one, it could take months and I had to put 1k deposit and pay a $2500.00 mark up. It’s almost like they are purposely producing these trucks in low numbers so they can gouge people. Can’t haul a Bobcat or a dump trailer loaded with a Silverado EV. Stupid.

Not really. I didn’t buy a HD, instead I bought a 1500 ltd Duramax for 1k under sticker. That is capitalism.

Silverado 2500’s have trailed ford in every metric until this generation. There wasn’t the demand. That’s why GM converted Ottawa to make HD’s. GM couldn’t keep up with the demand, but now they have the capacity to match ford. You should by next year see enough HD’s going around assuming China doesn’t release another virus…… it’s an election year after all.
Andc3 years from now they will be putting $8000 on the hood to get them moving off the lots..
