The 2022 Chevy Equinox arrives as the fifth model year for the current third-generation nameplate, introducing a model refresh with several big changes and updates. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 Chevy Equinox is once again available to order with the Blackout Package, adding in a few choice styling bits for the exterior.
The Blackout Package was available for the Chevy Equinox prior to the refresh introduced for the 2022 model year. Now, according to GM Authority sources, the package is once again available to order for the 2022 Chevy Equinox.
The Blackout Package is tagged with RPO code PDB, and is available as an LPO-level upgrade, which means it is installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced. The 2022 Chevy Equinox Blackout Package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Gloss Black emblem kit (RIK)
- Black finish grille (SJ9)
- Front and rear Black bow tie emblems (SFZ)
The 2022 Chevy Equinox Blackout Package is available as an optional extra for LS and LT trim levels. Pricing information is not yet available, but for the 2021 model year, the package was priced at $695 for LS trim levels, $795 for LT trim levels.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2022 Chevy Equinox Redline Edition is now available as well.
As a reminder, the Chevy Equinox was originally set to receive a model refresh for the 2021 model year, but as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was delayed to the 2022 model year.
As for the specs, the 2022 Chevy Equinox draws motivation from the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine, which is rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. Under the body panels, the crossover rides on the GM D2 platform, with production for North America taking place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant and the GM San Luis Potosí plant, both located in Mexico.
