2022 Chevy Camaro ZL1 At The Daytona 500: Live Photo Gallery

Earlier this year, Austin Cindric in the No. 2 Ford Mustang took the checkered at the 2022 Daytona 500, with the best-finishing Chevrolet of the race being the No. 9 of Chase Elliot in 10th. Although the Chevrolet Camaro Racing teams struggled this year, the iconic Bow Tie sports car was nevertheless well-represented both on and off the track, including with this 2022 Chevy Camaro ZL1, as captured by GM Authority in the following Live Photo Gallery.

This particular 2022 Chevy Camaro ZL1 presents in the Coupe body style, although the high-performance trim level is also available as a drop-top convertible. The body is covered in Riverside Blue Metallic paint (paint code GKK), giving the two-door muscle car a serious, battleship-esque demeanor in conjunction with the black trim bits.

The front fascia incorporates larger cooling ducts to feed the Chevy Camaro ZL1 heaps of fresh air, as well as wider front fenders and a unique hood treatment with a carbon-fiber air extractor. Also note the front Chevy logo is technically a flow tie.

Moving around to the profile, the sideview shows us the standard 20-inch forged aluminum wheels (RPO code RTQ) with Dark Graphite premium paint, sized at 10 inches in width up front, and 11 inches in width in the rear. The wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar summer-only tires, sized at 285/30R20 in front and 305/30R20 in back, while under the rollers are Brembo 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear calipers. Completing the silhouette are unique rocker moldings and body-color sideview mirrors.

The rear end of the 2022 Chevy Camaro ZL1 is equipped with a rear diffuser element that houses a quartet of round exhaust pipes, above which is a stanchion rear spoiler. Final details include a black rear Bow Tie badge and dark tint taillights.

Providing motivation is the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, rated at 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, which mates to the GM six-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match as standard. An available 10-speed paddle shift automatic is also offered. Finally, 2022 Chevy Camaro ZL1 models are driven exclusively by the two rear wheels, with an Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (eLSD) being included as standard.

As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Camaro rides on the GM Alpha platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  3. Going to look at a 2014 ZL1 Wednesday. Perhaps trade my cherry 2015 2SS + cash. We see. Camaros are available, you will pay tho.

  4. Just took delivery of my 5 month ordered ZL1 and love it. Only rub for me is it’s a show car and I found a small scratch in the windshield and several small scratches and smudges over the entire car. I’m thinking these issues were caused in the hands of the carrier and not at Lansing. Considering MSRP at 70K one might expect better care before being given to the dealer.

    1. I’m looking at a 2014 ZL1 tomorrow, 15k miles. Trade my 2015 2SS. Had a professional clay bar/color correction and ceramic coating done. Car shines, but it should for $1200. See a pro to get that fixed.
And for fun, a chassis Dyno tuner, after warranty expires lol.
