General Motors has just announced the official launch of the 2022 Chevy Camaro range in Brazil, the largest country and main automotive market in South America. The new model year of the iconic Chevrolet sports car receives an improved connectivity package that seeks to keep the vehicle up to date in the Brazilian market.
The 2022 Chevy Camaro adopts the brand’s most advanced connectivity package, which GM Brazil recently introduced in the 2023 Chevy S10 and TrailBlazer SUV lineup that’s built in the South American country. A special offer includes 12 months of complimentary on-board Wi-Fi and the most comprehensive OnStar assistance plan. In addition, the 2022 Camaro for Brazil debuts the Orange Sunset color – called Vivid Orange Metallic in the U.S. – that accentuates its sporty character and visual impact.
Specifically, the 2022 Chevy Camaro arrives in Brazil with the new Super Premium connectivity package that’s exclusive to Chevrolet’s high-end vehicles. In addition to free Wi-Fi and OnStar for the first year, this package offers Spotify in the vehicle’s infotainment system for the first time in South America, as well as the special Non-Stop mobility tag for parking lots, tolls and service stations with a free one-year membership.
In Brazil, the 2022 Chevy Camaro is offered exclusively in SS trim, in both Coupe and Convertible configurations. As such, both versions of the model have an extensive list of convenience, technology and safety features that make it stand out in its segment. Among them is Chevrolet’s latest infotainment system and Rear Camera Mirror.
On a mechanical level, the 2022 Chevy Camaro SS for the Brazilian market maintains the well-known naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 engine that develops 461 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque when running on ethanol, the country’s most popular fuel. Like the previous model year, the V8 is mated exclusively to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 Chevy Camaro SS is already available throughout the Bow Tie brand’s official dealer network in Brazil, where the muscle car is sold in small quantities and under the pre-order modality. The units are imported from the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. The starting price of the 2022 Camaro SS in the Brazilian market is 475,890 BRL, about $94,780 USD at current exchange rates.
