2022 Chevy Camaro Gets $200 Price Increase

The 2022 Chevy Camaro will be $200 more expensive going forward.

While GM has not applied a direct price increase to the 2022 Chevy Camaro, the automaker has raised the cost of the sports car’s destination charge from $1,195 to $1,395. This will, in effect, make the Camaro $200 more expensive across the board regardless of trim level.

The Chevy Camaro isn’t the only GM vehicle to have received a destination charge increase, with the Chevy Blazer, Corvette, Equinox, Express, Malibu, Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse and Silverado 1500 and Silverado HD also the recent recipients of similar changes.

The priciest trim, the ZL1 with the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8, is priced from $64,345 with the newly revised destination charge.

A supply restriction tied to the semiconductor chip shortage forced GM to pull heated seats from most Chevy Camaro trim levels in late March, however GM resolved the problem earlier this month. Production of the Chevy Camaro takes place alongside the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5 sedans at the GM Lansing Grand River Factory in Michigan. The Chevy Camaro rides on the GM Alpha platform, while the CT4 and CT5 use the closely related Alpha 2 platform.

GM will apply minor changes to the Chevy Camaro for the 2023 model year, including the addition of the new Radiant Red and Sharkskin Metallic exterior colors. Radiant Red will be offered with the Camaro’s various exterior Design Package equipment groups, while Sharkskin Metallic will be available with the Shock and Steel Special Edition package. We expect GM to release more information on the minor changes it will apply to the 2023 Chevy Camaro in the near future.

    1. Literally go to the dealer and build one or wait for one you like in transit. You people on this site are so doom and gloom with these camaros. I ordered mine in february and its being built next week. No hassles or anything. I even looked at 5 different 1LE’s either on a lot or called a dealer about one in transit. they are everywhere youre just too lazy to look.

      1. I am not sure where you live but they aren’t everywhere around here. There are a total of 4 Convertible 2SS sticks in the country and dealer allocation for 2023’s is limited at best. Please try again on your lazy comment.

      2. 2022M6SS1LE – try and read my comment again. I said “try and find one”. In the Bay area where I live, they have 7 in stock within a 500 mile range with 97 in transit. I didn’t say “Now try and order one”. By the way you can’t test drive a car that is in transit now can you. You can do better then this.

        1. Maybe the lazy comment struck a nerve. There are none around here and all in transit are sold orders. I did the same song and dance with my Tahoe.

      3. Same with most GM models these days. One example is an CT5 V BW is a hard find but other Vs and CT4-BW models are easier although hope you have a trade in or a ride to the dealership because it’s mostly out of town..

  2. It’s more than a $200 freight charge increase.. $800 per model on 2.0T & V6 trims, $1,800 increase on NA V8 trims & $3,700 increase on ZL1.

  3. Try to find a serious one. A ZL1 1LE is a unicorn. But if you order now you might get one before they pull the plug on the model completely.

  4. I ordered my 2022 LT1 Camaro on September 10th. It just went on the production line last week! After waiting 8 months, you’d think I should get some kind of discount. I was going to say keep it, I’ll just order a 2023, but no idea how long that would take!!

  5. Will they try to tack this on to cars already ordered? I ordered my 2021 in June and told it had to be changed to a 2022 in July. In April the dealer said the order was accepted but he estimated another two to four months. I keep hoping the deal will fall through and I can get my 3k deposit back. I don’t press the dealer in hopes they will botch the contract terms. In the year 2400 the car will be a real bargain if it comes in at the 2022 price in my contract.
