GM Authority spy photographers have caught a 2024 Chevy Silverado HD High Country prototype testing on public roads in Michigan, giving us a better idea of what to expect out of the facelifted full-size truck.
One of the more interesting aspects of this 2024 Chevy Silverado HD prototype is the wheels. While these may look like run-of-the-mill steelies, they are quite large in diameter and are shod in a set of 265/60R22 Goodyear Wrangler Territory A/T tires. That means this truck is sporting 22-inch wheels – a good sign that the production 2024 Chevy Silverado HD High Country will come with large 22-inch alloys. Chevy’s configurator for the current, 2022 model year Silverado HD indicates 20-inch wheels are the largest available on any Silverado HD trim.
Another notable part of this prototype is the new trim piece that has been applied to the side of the body. This trim piece spans from the leading edge of the driver’s door to the end of the rear of the passenger door and is similar to the cosmetic trim piece applied to the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country. The trim feature will have a chrome finish in production form and is intended to give the truck a more high-end and luxurious exterior appearance.
This prototype had heavily obscured front and rear fascias, concealing the styling changes that GM has in store for the facelifted 2024 Chevy Silverado HD. The camouflaged headlights and taillights are also a sure sign that new lighting signatures are in store for the updated Silverado HD. As we can see from the below photo, this prototype retains the current model’s CornerStep bumper.
In addition to revised exterior styling, the refreshed 2024 Silverado HD will also feature a completely revamped interior that will take after the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 light-duty truck. This will include new technology, including larger available instrument panel and infotainment display screens.
The 2024 Silverado HD is also expected to introduce a powertrain update. Refreshed 2024 Silverado HD and 2024 Sierra HD models equipped with the Duramax diesel engine are rumored to dole out nearly 1,100 pound-feet of torque and more than 500 horsepower, That’s a major boost over the current tune for the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, which is rated at 910 pound-feet of torque and 445 horsepower in the 2022 Silverado HD.
As we reported previously, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will introduce a new Silverado HD ZR2 off-road model, which will take after the light-duty Silverado ZR2 with front and rear locking differentials, re-tuned suspension with off-road dampers, additional underbody skid plates and aggressive 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.
GM Authority will continue to report on expected changes for the 2024 Chevy Silverado between now and its official debut. For now, be sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Chevy Silverado news, Chevy news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

When do we get to see the whole revile on the 2023 Silverado HD 3500 diesel. I am looking to buy one
22″ wheels do not belong on an HD truck. The tire side wall is not tall enough and makes the ride worse. Cadillac escalade rids like crap too.
Rhe wheels will be a 4 -5000 dollar option.
I’m very, very disappointed with GM, they are rendered only dark colors. This is my third High Country, one blue and the last two cherry red. My saleswoman at Nicol Auto in La Sarre Québec told me that GM no longer made Cherry Gray and Red and also no Micro Ship (puse). So I said NO THANK YOU, I don’t want any other color than Cherry Red and I kept my Sylverado Hihg Country 2018, 6.2 L which I like BUT. Since 2011 I’ve been changing my trucks every three years but this time it’s a BIG NO. I looked at you at Ford and Dodge RAM for my Cherry Red color. To bad so sad GM, you will lose a good customer, very very disappointed with you other GM… You can look in your system and you will see that I am not a liar… I would like to have a followup on my comment and I ask you to answer me ASAP…

Why did GM make you their truck model like the Chevy Nova Montana and Siera truck in Brazil… Is it cheaper to make them in this country’s and once in the USA / Canada you are going to charge us consumers more… And for the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate’s Paldao Wood (wood from a Asia Tree), exterior Trim such as Vader Chrome, 22-inch Whells and GM’s CarbonPro composite Cargo Box, is flown into U.S. from Southeast Asia, pricing starts at $81,790.00 U.S.,. What a bad GM administration… You should give the work to our employers in our two countries USA and Canada, you are not helping our GM economies… You are incompetent…
