Rare 2019 Cadillac CT6 Platinum With Blackwing Engine And Super Cruise For Sale

A rare 2019 Cadillac CT6 Platinum with the optional Blackwing V8 engine has appeared for sale at a GM dealership in Florida.

This appealing full-size luxury sedan is one of a small number of 2019 model-year Cadillac CT6 Platinum models that left the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant equipped with the optional twin-turbocharged 4.2L V8 LTA engine. This dual overhead camshaft eight-cylinder was factory rated at 500 horsepower and 574 pound-feet of torque in the CT6 Platinum, sending power to all four wheels via a GM 10-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. This motor came standard in the 2019 and 2020 model-year Cadillac CT6-V, as well, producing 550 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque in that application.

There’s more to this lightly used luxury sedan than a powerful forced induction V8, however. As some GM Authority readers may already know, the Cadillac CT6 Platinum came standard with GM’s hands-free, semi-autonomous Super Cruise driving assistant. While Super Cruise is now becoming more commonplace (it’s even offered in the fairly inexpensive 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV, remember), it was limited to the high-end CT6 for the 2019 model year.

This particular 2019 Cadillac CT6 was also ordered with Crystal White Tricoat exterior paint and features a Very Light Cashmere interior with Maple Sugar accents. It shows 30,995 miles on the odometer and is listed for a pricy $71,750. While that’s fairly expensive for a second-hand four-door such as this, keen GM fans will know just how uncommon it can be to find a used CT6 for sale with the 4.2L V8 under the hood. In addition to the 4.2L V8 LTA, the Cadillac CT6 was also offered with the turbocharged GM 2.0L I-4 LTG, naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX and twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGW engines.

Feel free to check out the listing for this 2019 Cadillac CT6 Platinum at this link.

  1. Boy, I sure wish I had the money to buy this and put it away to drive sparingly on sunny Sunday drives. Hopefully not, but that could be one of the last “larger” Cadillac sedans offered with a V8 and rear drive (Please don’t bring up the CT5 V as being still offered. I’m talking about the largest sedan).

Only thing I’d do is remove the CT6 badge and replace it with a Fleetwood script.

    1. I’d do the same, but with DeVille badges, this car isn’t big enough to wear the “Fleetwood” badge, that was reserved for the CT8 that never happened

    2. It’s so sad to see how Cadillac has moved from a luxury brand like decades ago with Lincoln and Chrysler imperial and has now become a racing car and cost a fortune.

  2. GM needs to bring this motor back please . Marry Barra hope your listening

    1. This engine was totally unnecessary. Yes, it is an engine similar in design to BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Audi, but it’s overly complicated, and puts out less power than the LT4. I’ve had my share of BMW’s and without a warranty this car’s value drops to $10,000. A head gasket repair on a 5 series with the 4.4 liter V8 twin turbo motor with the same “hot V” design was over $10,000 due to the labor involved just to remove the heads and reassemble it. It’s an awesome engine when it works, but when repairs are needed, hopefully you don’t have a low limit on your credit card.

  3. I wonder what Jeep/ Chrysler product was so great that it moved the owner to trade his Cadillac?

If they’re pricing it @$71k, they likely allowed about 60K on the trade. That on a car that probably listed at or over $100K just 3 years ago.

    1. That dealer also has Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Mitsubishi, so it could have been traded in on any of those.

    2. Megeebee: I’m calling BS on that $100K price 3 years ago. Prove me wrong on this, but I didn’t think you could get a CT6 over $75K even with every bell and whistle. Again, I may be totally wrong on this, but I just don’t think it would come close to 100K.

      1. The V’s base price was 89K, platinum was 87. Not sure you could break 100, but 95 was probably easy. This from a quick google from an old caranddriver article. I considered it back then, but could not fall in love with it. Still enjoying my just as rare 2011 CTS-V wagon.

      2. Very unfortunate that the U.S.- buyer will not have access to the coming restyled CT6.

      3. Dan,

If I recalled, I do remember that the CT6 Platinum TT 4.2 was $97K where the V was $95,890. Megeebee was referring to the Platinum model in the story and the V8 models were close to $100k optioned out.

  5. I thought the Platinum had different wheels……

  6. I am a Cadillac Salesman. Those are definitely not the original 20” wheels that are supposed to be on that car. Makes it look like a plain $65k CT6.

  7. I’m not losing hope that we will see a successor indirectly from the CT6 in electric form. I’m not talking about the CELESTIQ which is on another level and not talking about China’s second generation model we won’t get to see here anyway.

  8. You are so right. GM is riding on the Escalade coat tails right now but when that gravey train gets old, boy are they in trouble
None of their other vehicles are doing well sales wise and many people have moved on from Cadillac because they were beholden to short term gains for shareholders instead of listening to their customers desire. Many dealers have left for this reason. I have a Cadillac at the moment but will never buy another one. Period

  9. Howdo you get in touch with the dealer phone number. i would consider trading my ct6 platinum edition identical color no changes on the car.it has 14k miles on it and looks like new it sits ien a heated and and aic cond garage. i would not consider trading it in on any other car or color just would do it to have the v8.my car is almost identical in color and thats why i would trade even though you have a lot more miles. one of the commetns said they are not worth $71,000 and i know he is right and neither is mine even though mine is cleaner and original with due respect.
