The all-new 2023 Corvette Z06 made its debut in October of 2021, slotting in a next-level performance model in the latest eighth-generation Chevy Corvette C8 lineup. Unsurprisingly, Vette fanatics are chomping at the bit to get their hands on the new Corvette Z06, and now, GM Authority has learned when order books are slated to open up.
According to GM Authority sources, 2023 Corvette Z06 ordering will begin late this spring. That said, it’s important to note that this is currently a tentative date that may change at some point in the future. Official pricing information for the new Corvette Z06 has yet to be released, but for reference, the C7-generation Corvette Z06 1LZ Coupe started at $81,995.
Highlights for the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 include an all-new engine, namely the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The new LT6 can also spin to an impressive 8,600-rpm redline, all while emitting a decidedly exotic-sounding exhaust note. The LT6 also features a flat-plane crank, active split intake manifold, twin 87 mm throttle bodies, and race-inspired dry-sump oiling system.
The Corvette Z06’s LT6 engine connects to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Outside, the new Z06 presents a more aggressive exterior with a widebody stance and revised aero bits, the latter of which can be upgraded further with the Z07 Performance Package, which adds in full carbon fiber aero components. The Z07 package also includes larger carbon ceramic brakes, sized at 15.7 inches in front and 15.4 inches in the rear, plus stickier Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires and optional carbon fiber wheels.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 will be offered in both Coupe and Convertible body styles. Under the skin is the GM Y2 platform. Production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Not really a revelation, nor very helpful for “sources” to say late Spring (and that that could change) when we’re already nearly at mid-April…kind of clickbait to say “here’s when…” or otherwise that you have learned when ordering will open up…this literally provides no news.
You got my click, so mission accomplished I guess.
I agree. Spring is not a date it’s a season.
haha…you didn’t think it was helpful? Sometime between April 8th and June 21st and that may change…
We’re three weeks into a thirteen week season and you’re ready for summer? Relax, speed takes time! The faster you want to go, the longer you wait. This is the time for the bean counters to shine, and their only time ever! Before your C 8 Z 06 turns 499.9 miles you will have forgotten the wait. You waited forever just to sit in front of the engine!
I would get one if I could get it in this life time.
That is an interesting tidbit at the end. I remember reading long ago that Corvette was a Y-body or “Y” platform but I hadn’t realized the C8 is on what’s called the “Y2” platform which makes sense considering the radical changes it went through.
Wow that’s great news, I wonder if you can also pre-order for the 2024? Thanks again for the heads up J Lo!
You say the “date”could change– what date? You didn’t write a date, you said late spring. Well here in SW Florida, spring has already sprung!…I do not have a dog in this hunt,as I am happy with my ’20 C8, but it’s going to be interesting to watch what is going to take place when the Z-06 starts showing up at dealers and they start adding ADMs to cars that were ordered!
Blah blah blah
Tony, blah blah is a different Bill, I’m Wow Bill above. Bill #2 add something to your name.
When do l sign up for one.?
What color is the z06 in the pic?
That would be my new favorite exterior color Silver Flare Metallic with an I don’t know if that works Adrenaline Red Dipped interior.
It might work if you fill the interior with the carbon fiber package and the stealth option.
Yep, a non-article with a mis-leading title. Should have just said, another delay in announcing the C8.
Hope I live long enough to actually see one.
Thank J Lo!
This is very poor journalism. I actually feel bad even calling it journalism.
“Late Spring”….if that is true, it only means being able to order will be closer to July…. #BankOnIt
A none article to generate traffic, muh…… Just keep waiting…..
Enjoyed looking at the picture……reading the article, not so much.
Kinda like, “The check’s in the mail.”
“Late this spring” is not a date.
hello thanks for calling —————-Chevy my name is Greg may i help you?
yes are you selling the Z06 over msrp ?
hi who do i have the pleasure or speaking with
never mind the sale crap are you ?
sir at this time the z06 version of the all new c8 corvette pricing has not been announced
would you like a call once the official pricing is available ?
huh i asked are you you know what m!@#$%&er ill call somebody else to give my business too click .
multiply this fifteen times a day .this car has become a the best worst thing ever
Yeah Greg, probably not a great idea to sit there and be rude to the sales person. The kinder you are the more they are willing to help you out and get you the information that you need.
Great look and design, can’t wait. When is GM going to reintroduce a Green C8, like the Goodwood Green of olde or the LimeRock Green of a couple years ago. Very disappointing that the color palette keeps changing without a Green color. Thanks.
Damn , Did JOE BIDEN and his staff write this article ? LOL
Here’s when ordering will begin? Still, waiting. A few months ago your article said ordering the Z06 will begin at the end of March? Well, we are in April and now you state late spring? late spring 2022, 2023, or when. Very misleading, If you don’t have a date, don’t publish an article titled “Here’s when ordering will begin.”
I love late model GM performance cars and this is how I buy mine:
I allow them to be released and wait 9-12 months. The original buyers typically become bored with them and trade for something else. What do I get? A high end GM vehicle with <5,000 miles on it, for ~$10-12k less than MSRP. I always buy from a local, very large Corvette dealer that has every stitch of the vehicle's history. They even throw it up on the rack and permit me to go over it with a fine-toothed comb (I do all of my own work, so I know what I am looking for). Do it right and allow the first man to take the hit.
JMHO. Happy buying everyone! This one is going to be straight NASTY!!!
Sounds like a great plan……..How does that work for you on the C8?
Infamous, I don’t see that happening with the ZO6. I went to Ciocca’s (Atlantic City) C8 ZO6 dealership tour and met people with reservation numbers exceeding 3200. You will be hard pressed just to find a ZO6 on a dealership lot in 2 years. Hell, the C8 Stingray on non-Chevy dealership lots have dropped their $50K premium to $25K. $10-12K less than MSRP for a ZO6. Point me in that direction.
We have a big family reunion scheduled on that date, what coincidence!
Thought it was canceled???
Didn’t they just cancel this model because of gas or was that a different motor.
Now back to this model it’s ugly i will stick to my 96
Yes, they did cancel this in the US
The C7 Z06 had 20 less horse but 200 more foot pounds of torque why the difference I think the C7 more impressive
GM has come out and already said they are killing off the Z06 due to the 2024 bill that regulates gas powered vehicles. All z06 orders are being changed to E-Ray orders. This article is not correct
That was an April fools joke, look at the date of the article.
There will be no ordering. Not going to happen.
I am fairly certain that my quest for the C8Z06 has become more of a cause than an every day purchase. I have been single-minded regarding this car for quite some time now. Whether it takes 6 months or years to finally get is not all that important. I am told that I have the #2 allocation from my dealer and have been waiting to order the thing. I am feeling confident that it will happen and in the meanwhile I have my 07 C6 Z06 to keep those feelings in check. Anyone else waiting to order, as well? Need good news.
I would get one if I could get it in this life time.
It was axed by gm. Do better research.
My friends in “the biz” tell me Z06 ordering won’t happen til late May or early June. I’m #2 on their list so I’ve been talking with them a lot about this.
Second week of May…..crickets from GM.
Jay Leno and Rick Hendrick both already have theirs. Has anybody else even been able to order it ?
I’ve had my corvette on order for over a year now and it’s really going to tick me off when someone takes delivery of a Z06 before I get my plain old stingray. I’m still 5 out from my car getting allocated. I think this will get me even more upset than hearing about all of the vettes that Mike Furman delivers “what’s that all about” ? It seems like GM want’s people to go somewhere other than their local Chevrolet dealer to purchase their corvette. This is starting to really turn me against GM and I’ve been a loyal customer for years.
Since Mike Furman is the #1 Corvette salesman in the world who has sold over 5,000 Corvettes one does have to question does he and the dealership get priority over all the other dealerships. I am sure he gets more perks etc. but hopefully cannot jump the line of other individuals on the list from other dealers. Very interesting and something to think about.
Dr, Piz, Criswell (Mike Furman) is the third or fourth largest Corvette dealership. Ciocca (Atlantic City) and McMulkin are number one and two respectively. Ciocca for model year 2021 received over 1,400 Stingray allocations. I believe Criswell received 7 or 9 hundred.
If, you want the list of the top 100 dealerships by allocations just go to one of the Corvette forums and download the information.
James, you have the right to use your local dealer for Corvette needs. Each dealer can tell you exactly how many C8 Stingray allocations they will receive during each model year. Some dealers might have 1 allocation and others over 1,400. Ciocca of Atlantic City is at the top of the food chain with over 1,400 Stingray allocations. I think Mike Furman is around 7 or 9 hundred.
If, you want the top 100 dealerships with the most allocations then, visit the Corvette forum and download the list.
