Let’s kick it off by listing the 2022 GMC Canyon’s engine lineup, which includes two gasoline options and one diesel. The lineup starts with the atmospheric 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, rated at 200 horsepower at 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm, followed by the atmospheric 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 275 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, and the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 181 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 369 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. To note, the 2022 GMC Canyon is no longer available to order with the atmospheric 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, as GM Authority covered previously.
The transmission equipped depends on the engine selected, with the 2.5L I4 LCV and 2.8L I4 LWN connecting to the GM six-speed automatic transmission, and the 3.6L V6 LGZ connecting to the GM 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both offered.
It’s also worth noting the body configurations available, which include the Extended Cab, Crew Cab / Short Bed, and Crew Cab / Long Bed. What’s more, some GMC Canyon models are equipped with the Trailering Package (RPO code Z82), which adds a trailer hitch and 7-pin connector.
