General Motors has issued a recall for certain examples of the 2019-2022 model year Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups due to an issue related to the mounting of the available Truck Hero Tri-fold tonneau cover. This recall is an expansion of two previous recall campaigns (NHTSA Recall Numbers 19E066 and 20E024) that included other tri-fold hard and soft tonneau cover designs offered through the official GM Accessories catalog.

The problem: the Truck Hero Tri-fold tonneau cover on affected Silverado and Sierra models may become loose from the rails of the pickup bed, and detach from the vehicle while driving.
The hazards: if a tonneau cover becomes detached from the vehicle while it is in motion, it may land in the roadway in the path of traffic and increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: dealers will inspect the tonneau covers on affected vehicles and, if the cover is the hard tri-fold tonneau, the dealer will replace the tonneau rails and clamps and add a tether. For soft tri-fold tonneau covers, the owner will be provided with updated instructions, additional labeling, and a tether kit. These repairs will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Owners should: wait for GM to contact them, at which point they will be instructed to make an appointment with a certified GM dealer. You do realize this cover recall is from Truck Hero, GM did not make these covers. they just install them as a factory option.
Chinamen would steal defective tonneau cover design and sell it to pangolins.
