2024 Ford Mustang Front Fascia Leaked

The next-generation Ford Mustang, also known as the S650, is well on its way, with a variety of recent prototype spy shots and leaks providing hints of what to expect. Now, we’re getting our best look yet at the restyled front fascia for the forthcoming Chevy Camaro rival.

As initially reported by our sister publication, Ford Authority, the leak provides a completely uncovered look at the redesigned front end of the S650 Ford Mustang. The new look evolves the styling of the S550’s 2018+ model refresh, and gives it a slightly more subdued demeanor.

Highlights include thin and slim headlight housings with a rectangular shape and upward slant, which look to incorporate a tri-bar LED lighting system. The headlights bracket a horizontally oriented central intake, with the Mustang logo centrally placed and finished in silver. A secondary intake is lower in the bumper and flanked by a pair of faux side intakes. There’s also a front license plate holder on the bumper.

To note, the leaked photo shows the next-gen Mustang with the hood open, which does change the lines a little, but either way, we now know exactly what the Chevy Camaro rival will look like. This particular example is a fastback coupe, and looks to be on the more basic side of the trim level spectrum, given the wheels and grille.

As Ford Authority reports, the new Ford Mustang will not be available with all-wheel drive, although a pair of hybrid powertrains may be offered. As is tradition, a V8 will be on the list as well.

The S650 Ford Mustang is slated to launch for the 2024 model year, with production taking place at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly plant.

Meanwhile, not much is happening with the Chevy Camaro. The current sixth-gen model is slated to sunset in 2023 for the 2024 model year, after which the future of the nameplate remains somewhat uncertain. More immediately, the 2023 Chevy Camaro will be offered with two new exterior paint colors, as GM Authority covered previously.

  1. At least Ford has the nuts to keep the V8 around.
Unlike GM. (Coming from a 17 Camaro owner and longtime Chevrolet Performance fan).

    1. lol what?
Which truck still offers 2 V8s in the half ton segment? GM – Silverado Sierra. Which company has the next generation of V8s set to come out in 2025? GM.

      1. Only to be eliminated between 2030 and 2035…
(and haven’t bothered updating power output since 2014. They changed from afm to dfm but didn’t get more power. Ford has upped the power on the 5.0 twice since then.

        1. Everyone is ditching V8s, actually all LD ICE development, by 2030-2035.

The 6.2 is better than the 5.0, that’s all I need to say there. The 5.3 is only down on torque a little but from the Ford 5.0 and Ram 5.7 but has a broader band which is more usable than peak, especially true on a truck where you don’t want high revs, for things like towing, for extended durations.
People who cry about high rev peak power don’t get *it*.

And speaking of the 5.7 Hemi, that’ll be gone in a few years with the replacement of the 3.0L Hurricane. Toyota killed their iForce V8.
So remind me again how GM is evil for killing the V8. They are the only ones true keeping the V8 relevant. It’s actually amazing people would bit¢h and moan otherwise.

          1. Negative. Only VW group and certain smaller MFG’s are ditching ICE development. And VW will pay for it more than they did when their freighter was sunk a couple months ago from an EV catching fire and downing the whole ship.

Currently americas “big 3” and Toyota are full steam ahead on ICE engines with “plans” to stop R&D in 4-5 years…..

And in that short time period, do your really think EV’s will become popular with about 1/5th of Americans sold on EV’s and well over half who are now turned off by them? Do you really think that with the Chinese communist party believes that the future is solar? They build a new coal plant every 2 weeks. Our future is gas. That’s not a speculation, it’s a calculation. We’ve spent half of our grid investment in the past 20 years on wind and solar and only saw it equating 2% of our grid. The EV people don’t want nukes, so gas it is.

Also, Mary saddled right up to trump in 2017 the same way she saddled right up to Biden, and probably will do the same to Desantis or Nikey Halley. With the way things are going, it won’t be Biden in 2024, nor Komi Harris, or even more hilarious, the Hildabeast want part of the action. In 2024 you can bet your bottom dollar the free EV money will stop, and the big 3 will restart ICE investment plans 1 year before they start shutting them down.

            3. I agree it won’t be Brandon after ’24 but it’s gullible to think we’re taking gasoline baths then too. EV will most likely be a choice like diesel and hybrid instead of mandated in the future..

          2. Everyone is NOT Ditching V8s, they are making them much more rare. The only hemi will probably end up being the 392, or they could bore it out to 426 and make it a hybrid. A 426 gen III hemi hybrid COULD replace the hellcat. Then full electric could replace the 426 gen III hemi hybrid…if they ever get the power grid bulked up. The 2024 Mustang will probably have an EcoBoost I4, EcoBoost V6, and a 6.8 V8 based off of Godzilla. GM will update the Camaro one more time at least. Why? Because they need it for racing programs and now they see proof of an updated Mustang. It’s NOT a certain engine that automakers can’t have, it’s the total mix of emissions and fuel economy from their entire lineup. If they can make expensive V8 vehicles that sell and have enough economy cars to offset the negative fuel credits and fines, they will continue to make V8s.

            1. Mustang won’t get a 6.8, just like F150 won’t get a 6.8 7.0 or any other derivative of the Godzilla. It will stay an HD/2a+ engine

            2. I believe V8’s will come back In as everyone realizes that they ecoturds are trash for emissions and economy. The 5.3 gets the same as the 2.7 turbo, and both of those get better REAL world economy than any ford. Rams new I6 probably will disappoint in real world economy as well. Gotta understand that turbos are only 65% efficient, so if you get 20psi of boost, you have 30psi of backpreasure. Likely ford and Ram will bring back V8’s to compete with GM’s up and coming V8’s. GM claims they will get 15% better fuel economy with their next gen V8. Imagine a 5.3 getting 27mpg highway. How can an ecoturd or rams I6 best that?

          3. I can tell you without a doubt my 5.0 2020 f150 screams and will slap my 18 5.3 I had all over the road. I drove a 19 quite a bit too and the 5.0 still greatly outperforms that as well. My 5.0 has just as much down low as the 5.3 had. I feel the 5.0 is decently quick for a truck and never felt that way with the 5.3

I haven’t driven a 6.2, but the 5.0 (which is flex fuel) is more on par with the 6.2 than you think.

            1. You are correct Mike. My brother has a 6.2 Camaro and he drove my 5.0 Mustang. He said they both feel the same power wise.

      2. Yes gm has two V8’s but let’s not forget that the 5.0 Liter V8 is still available for the current F-150 also, not be counted out.

  7. Gee it looks like a….. Mustang.

Even Mustang sales are not great anymore. At o e time they sold almost 1 million in 2 years now they are not even hitting six figures. They also are slapping the name on a silly small CUV that is clearly nothing Mustang.

As for GM something is up and I am not sure what but look at what is going on.

#1 the Camaro just debuted in NASCAR as the new gen racer. ,

#2 they just showed the Camaro as the new car in the Australian Touring Car series,

#3 GM and NASCAR are taking a Camaro to Europe and Le Mans as a test for a possible class for the future in WEC and IMSA racing.

I get the feelings there is sone major plans for the Camaro or a replacement to fill this niche at GM.

I would recommend to keep watching as sone things will be announced and it could prove to be interesting.

    1. Agree! Here’s a couple more
#4 – third gen Camaro prominently displayed at 2021 Chevy SEMA booth featuring partnership with Hoonigan

#5 – third gen iroc spied “testing” a couple years ago on GM testing grounds

The Camaro nameplate has ton of brand equity, far too much in my opinion for Chevy to just abandon all together. I’d love to see a 7th gen based on 3rd gen design…OR an EV Camaro that looks like something like the Interceptor from The Wraith ( ya I know, that was a Dodge…but you get the idea)

      1. Had to say yet what is the plan. I may not be a Camaro but some kind of performance model is planned here if they have invested this much into a racing program.

Could be a new Camaro, could be a Cadillac, could be a new Chevy model.

With Dodge coming back to NASCAR Chevy is not going to leave and they look to be increasing the program with a similar car globally.

  11. I like the way the new Mustang 7 gen looks. I prefer old-school simple designs more than over-styled futuristic designs.

When GM came out with the Camaro 6th gen, it took the Alpha chassis from the Cadillac ATS. Also took many of the engine options as well like the 2.0T LTG, 3.6L V6, and the 6.2L V8 (also used in Corvette C7).

Now that GM came out with the Cadillac CT4 with the Alpha2 chassis, the 2.7T and the twin turbo V6, I think it will be very likely that the Camaro 7th gen is going to be built on the same Alpha2 chassis with those same engine options. And possibly the 5.5L V8 used in the new Corvette Z06.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if the Next Gen Camaro NASCAR is experimenting/testing all these things right now.
