2023 Cadillac XT6 To Lose These Three Paint Colors

The 2023 Cadillac XT6 is poised to arrive as the fourth model year for the first-generation crossover nameplate, introducing only a few changes and updates over the previous 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 Cadillac XT6 will delete three exterior paint colors previously available for the 2022 model year.

According to GM Authority sources, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 will delete the following exterior paint options (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Satin Steel Metallic (G9K)
  • Dark Moon Blue Metallic (GLU)
  • Infrared Tintcoat (GSK)

To note, Dark Moon Blue (G9K) cost an extra $625 extra, while Infrared Tintcoat (GSK) cost an extra $1,225. Satin Steel Metallic (G9K) was offered at no extra charge.

All three of these exterior paint options were offered for all trim levels of the 2022 Cadillac XT6, and were available in conjunction will six available interior colors, with the exception of Infrared Tintcoat, which was could not be matched with the Dark Auburn with Jet Black accents interior colorway.

With the introduction of the 2023 Cadillac XT6, the three outgoing exterior paint options listed above will be replaced with three new hues, specifically:

  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
  • Opulent Blue Metallic (GTR)
  • Argent Silver Metallic (GXD)

Radiant Red Tintcoat and Opulent Blue Metallic will be available for an extra charge, while Argent Silver Metallic will not include an extra charge.

As a reminder, the Cadillac XT6 features two engine options, namely the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and higher in the trim level lineup, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engine options connect to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive offered as standard, and all-wheel drive as optional. Sport trim levels include all-wheel drive as standard.

Under the skin, the Cadillac XT6 rides on the GM C1 platform, with production for the North American market taking place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

  2. So basically, it is just a paint hue adjustment than a replacement. Probably won’t tell the differences between the hues for ’22 & ’23.
