The upcoming 2023 Cadillac XT5 is set to arrive as seventh model year for the first-generation, introducing just a few changes and updates over the previous 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will also delete three exterior paint options previously offered for the 2022 model year.
According to GM Authority sources, the following three paint options will be dropped after the Cadillac XT5’s 2022 model year (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):
- Satin Steel Metallic (G9K)
- Dark Moon Blue Metallic (GLU)
- Infrared Tintcoat (GSK)
To note, all three exterior colors were available across all trim levels of the 2022 Cadillac XT5. What’s more, all three hues were available in combiation with all six available interior colors, with the exception of Infrared Tintcoat, which was not available in conjunction with the Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents interior colorway.
As for pricing, Dark Moon Blue cost an extra $625, while Infrared cost $1,225 extra. Satin Steel did not include an extra upcharge.
Moving forward, the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will replace the three outgoing exterior colors with three new colors, including:
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- Opulent Blue Metallic (GTR)
- Argent Silver Metallic (GXD)
Radiant Red Tintcoat and Opulent Blue Metallic will both be available for an extra charge, while Argent Silver Metallic will not include an extra charge.
Previously, it was believed that the 2023 Cadillac XT5 would introduce brand-new second generation for the crossover nameplate, but now, it’s looking like the next-gen model will be delayed until the 2024 model year. To note, the-first generation XT was introduced for the 2017 model year, with a first-gen model refresh introduced for the 2020 model year.
Motivation is sourced from either the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine or the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, with both engines connecting to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin, the Cadillac XT5 rides on the GM C1 platform, while production for the North American market takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
