The 2022 GMC Terrain is the fifth model year of the current second-generation crossover, introducing a mid-cycle enhancement, also known as a model refresh. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 GMC Terrain will offer a new Black Diamond Edition package that will include a wealth of content for the exterior and interior.
The new Black Diamond Edition package for the 2022 GMC Terrain is tagged with RPO code RFN, and includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Denali Premium Package content (PCV)
- SkyScape power sunroof (C3U)
- 19-inch aluminum painted wheels with After Midnight finish (PJO)
To note, the Denali Premium Package contains the following content:
- Ventilated driver seat (KU1)
- Ventilated front passenger seat (KU3)
- Heated rear seats (KA6)
- HD Surround Vision (UV2)
- Automatic Parking Assist (UFQ)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
The new Black Diamond Edition package will only be available on the 2022 GMC Terrain Denali trim level, and will require Ebony Twilight Metallic exterior paint (paint code GB8), priced at $495.
At present, exact pricing information is unavailable. That said, the package will likely be slightly more than $3,000, given the Denali Premium Package is priced at $1,445 and the SkyScape power sunroof is priced at $1,495.
The GMC Terrain nameplate was originally set to receive a model refresh for the 2021 model year, but as a result of complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was instead delayed to the 2022 model year. The updated 2022 GMC Terrain was officially unveiled in March of the 2021 calendar year.
As for the greasy bits, the 2022 GMC Terrain is motivated by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine. Output is rated at 170 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 203 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. Under the skin, the GMC Terrain rides on the GM D2 platform, with production taking place at the GM San Luis Potosà plant in Mexico.

Same old same old. Putting lipstick on a you know what
Might be but sure beats the other slop from Japan – Korea
Totally agree !!!
Where’s the diamond quilted leather seats and door cards?
Does the Diamond Black Paint qualify for the Class-Action Peeling Paint lawsuit?
If not, surely it will have a Self-destructing Engine, or Disintegrating Wheels…
Keep all this super black diamond extra denali plus bla bla bla pakcges. Where is the 2 liter engine? Now we can’t even hope for a towing package. Actallu you can’t order a trailer hitch at least to put the bicycle rack on it.
And yes the competition is doung better in the segment: Kia(Sorento with 277 HP) and Hyundai (Santa Fe with 281 HP) offering turbo engines as well as the CRV that although it is a 1.5L, same as the Terrain, it offers 18 more HP.
Now if you choose to get an Audi Q5 for $6 or $7 K more you get a 245 HP engine.
Actually the Trax has a better weight to power ratio than the Terrain.
Unbelievable!!
